The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board held a public meeting on Monday, November 14. The following are important news and notes from that meeting.
School Board Gives Thanks to WLWV School Psychologists
The West Linn-Wilsonville School District is fortunate to employ an incredible team of school psychologists who work across all 16 schools. Student Services Assistant Director Nicole Hyatt recognized school psychologists for their contributions to student learning and well-being before being thanked by the Board.

Board Announces Budget Committee Vacancy
The West Linn-Wilsonville School District announced a vacancy for Budget Committee Position No. 3. An application will be uploaded to the Business Office website for interested community members to apply.
The Budget Committee works with the School Board to review and approve the budget for each school year. Budget Committee members are asked to attend five to six evening meetings beginning in the spring to review the proposed budget.
Board Approves 2023-24 Budget Calendar
The Board approved the proposed budget calendar for the Fiscal Year 2023-24. Key dates include the following:
- March 15 — Budget Committee Work Session
- March 17 — Budget Committee Work Session (if needed)
- May 1 — Board Receives Superintendent Budget Message
- May 17 — First Official Budget Committee Meeting
- May 22 — Second Budget Committee Meeting (if needed)
- June 5 — Board Hearing and Budget Adoption
School Board Approves Qualifications Based Selection Process for New Primary School at Frog Pond Capital Bond Project
The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board approved a Qualifications Based Selection Process for the New Primary School at Frog Pond. The modified two-step process includes a review of general contractor qualifications, followed by a competitive bid. Both phases will be publicly advertised through multiple outlets to maximize exposure to all contractors, including minority and women-owned businesses.
The Qualifications Based Selection Process has been used for many high-profile capital construction projects in the district in the past, including the New Athey Creek Middle School, Wilsonville High Auditorium, Wood Middle School Renovations, and Meridian Creek Middle School.
