Report Cards

Report Cards for grades K-5 will be posted in Home Access Center (HAC) on Friday, March 24th after 3PM. Report Cards will not be emailed or printed. If you are having trouble accessing your HAC account, please contact the registrar at deirdre.hemsing@humbleisd.net.

Spring Parties Pre-Registration

Spring Parties Pre-Registration is now live! Visit this link to pre-register for the Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade Spring Parties.


Form will be turned off at 8:00pm on Monday, April 3, 2023.

1st Grade - 12:00-1:00


Non school-age children will not count toward the guest count and are welcome to attend. Pre-registration is highly recommended via this form to allow for the fastest and easiest check in process.


All adult guests must be listed as guardians or emergency contacts for the child in Home Access Center. For assistance with this, please contact the Front Office. Legal name that is on the driver's license MUST match the name that is listed as a contact and the name that is registered to attend.


  • If you are preregistered, you may start checking in at the check in tables 15 minutes before party time.
  • You will receive a check in sticker at the check in tables.
  • If you do not preregister, you have to go to the front office.
  • Students will be allowed 2 adult guests to their parties. School-aged children are not allowed at the parties.
  • If checking out your student after their party, you will check out with the classroom teacher before leaving the classroom.
  • Siblings in other grade levels may be checked out after the parties at the front office. School-age siblings who are students at Groves are not allowed to attend other grade level parties with their siblings. CHECKOUTS END AT 2:30.

Author Visit

Author Alda P. Dobbs https://www.aldapdobbs.com/about will visit our 4th & 5th grade students ONLY on Thursday, March 30th from 8:45-9:45. Her middle grade historical fiction, The Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna, was on the Texas Bluebonnet Award list.


Students can purchase a book if they wish & she will autograph it. Books will be delivered the day of the author visit. You can pre-purchase the book at her site https://aldadobbs.square.site/ We look forward to this fantastic opportunity for students!

Dog Man Pre-Order

If your student pre-ordered the upcoming Dog Man book at our Spring Book Fair, the release date is March 28th. They should arrive at our school 5-7 days after that and I will distribute those to the students on the list.

Important Information

We want to make sure all students get their full learning experiences each and every day. Reminder that the school day begins at 7:55, and tardies begin at 8:00.


Attendance is extremely important to success in school! Please see more information here and here about why attendance matters and what you can do to help.


A few safety reminders:


-Student drop-offs are not allowed in the staff parking lot/bus and daycare lane in the mornings.


-School doors open at 7:30, prior to this time there is no supervision for students.


-Cell phone use while driving is not allowed on school property per Texas Transportation Code (unless you are using a handsfree device).

ATTENDANCE

It is important that all student absences be reported to the school in a timely manner. Please use ONE of the following methods to report the absence.


- Call the attendance line at 281-641-5019 or

- Email the attendance specialist at deirdre.hemsing@humbleisd.net

- Complete the online absence form that can be found here.


If your student has visited a doctor while they were absent then please make sure to send in a signed/stamped doctors note within 48 hours of their return to school.


Attendance is taken at 9:55am

Students must be in class at that time to be marked present.

Early Checkout

Early Check Out from the front office will end promptly at 2:30pm to prepare for dismissal.

As part of this year’s 4th Grade music curriculum, your child will be learning to play the soprano recorder.


This instrument gives the students the opportunity to apply concepts and skills they have studied in class.

Food Delivery for Students

Just a reminder that students are not allowed food deliveries by outside vendors (Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc.) or directly from a restaurant. We welcome parents to drop off lunch in the front atrium. Thank you!

Lunch Schedule

See below for a link to the lunch schedule. This staggered lunch schedule will allow students to have more time to eat their meals without rushing.

Birthday Treats

Please contact your child's teacher to set up dropping off of birthday treats. They can be dropped off at the front office. Please make sure it is a store bought item confirmed with your teacher in case of allergies. Individually wrapped is recommended. No goodie bags, gifts or balloons will be accepted. Ice cream can be purchased from the cafeteria. This must be done in advance and the form can be found on our website.

Grizzly Game Day

You have until the end of tonight to volunteer to help with Grizzly Game Day! Please help us make Grizzly game Day a success for our students. Follow this link to sign up volunteers. 2023 Spring Gala - April 15th from 7 to 10pm at the Hearth

Tickets to our second annual Spring Gala are on sale now through April 7th! Your ticket will include an evening of music and dancing, heavy hors d'oeuvres and food stations, charcuterie and dessert tables, and 2 beverage tickets. The Gala will include a silent auction, raffle and other fun events throughout the evening. All tickets will include a "swag bag" with promotional items from our sponsors and donations from the community. We can't wait to celebrate our school with you! Last year, we used proceeds to purchase $25,000 of Chromebooks and accessories and this year we want to contribute to purchase A/V equipment for our GE stage area.
