Hampton Bays Middle School
Parent Express Bulletin #3
Pod Meetings and Safety Drills
Thanks for making this past week one in which we've gotten our students back into the day-to-day routines of middle school. Even with a few holidays sprinkled here and there throughout the opening weeks of school, it's remarkable to see our students and their teachers poised and focused on a productive school year.
This week, Mr. DeBlasio and I are looking forward to hosting Welcome Back pod meetings with our students. We will also be establishing our school safety drill routines as well. Parents, we encourage you to ask you ask your children to tell you our three rules for middle school. We also look forward to seeing you for our Welcome Back PTO Meeting, Class Meetings, and Middle School Open House Night on Thursday, September 24. We will share more information about Open House Night in next week's PEX. Stay tuned!
Please enjoy the reading selections shared this week. I welcome your feedback on these and invite you to share other resources you come across. As you may have noticed, while all of the reading selections center on supporting adolescents, not all of the selections are specifically about school. That's because we appreciate all facets of what it means to be an adolescent. This includes academics, as well as physical, moral, psychological, and social-emotional development. When we work together to support all of these aspects, our students (your children) will thrive throughout middle school. We are grateful that you make the time to be an essential part of our school-home partnership!
Sincerely,
Mr. Schug
