At the June 18 Board of Education meeting, we heard from the students heading to the Kennedy Space Center after winningNASA's App Development Challenge. We said farewell to our 2018-2019 retirees, completing 450 collective years of service to Millburn. Kelly Salazar, Principal at Deerfield School shared the highlights of the Bulldogs' year.
Dr. Burton and Business Administrator, Cheryl Schneider, made a presentation about Long Range Facilities and Funding Planning.

Moment of Silence in Memory of Carmen Guarino
Millburn recently lost a wonderful educator and coach. I would like to ask for a moment of silence in memory of Carmen Guarino and our heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends and district colleagues.
Honoring our Retiring Staff
I want to send a special thanks to over 450 collective years of service to all of the staff members who are retiring. All the best to them in the next phase of their lives and we wish them well for a wonderful summer as they retire.
District App/BOE Headlines
The District Communications & Community Outreach Coordinator, Nancy Dries and Director of Technology, Evan Abramson and I have been working toward the final version of the district app. This evening I’d like to share the app and a few of the features as well as another digital tool we have created as a follow up to the Board meetings entitled, BOE Headlines.
Word/Cellar Door Journal
The latest edition of WORD and Cellar Door have been published at the HS that contain an exemplary collection of student writing and artwork. Students in all levels submit their literary and artistic pieces. We are extremely proud of the many talents of our students and their work in this year’s editions. Thanks to our faculty advisor for WORD, Dr. Minaz Jooma, and Shirley Lazar for the Cellar Door with a special thanks to Jessica Siegel and Kathleen Harte-Gilsenan for and HS Staff for their efforts and support of this work.
Back to School Update:
We are currently working on the steps for the Back to School Update for this summer. We will be sending out more details in preparation for the mid-July process.

I want to wish everyone a wonderful summer break. Take time to relax and enjoy all that is fun and exciting that the summer season has to offer!
