Deciduous Forest
Deciduous Forest food web
My (hand drawn) food web is from the Deciduous Forest. The producers is the plants which include moss and lichen. The primary consumers ( which eat the plants ) are the grasshoppers and rabbits. The secondary consumer is the spider and the bird. Then we have the Tertiary consumer which is the fox, snake, and owl.
Mutualistic Relationship
The plants are happy that the fox is eating rabbits, and the fox is happy that it's eating rabbits. Both are happy.
Commensalistic Relationship
The owl benifits from eating rabbit, and the snake doesn't care because he doesn't eat it. The owl benifits while the snake is uneffected.
Parasitic Realationship
When the snake eats the bird it benifits but the fox does not because it just lost food it could've eaten. The snake is happy but the fox is not
Ways we effect the environment
Us humans effect deciduous forest positively and negatively. We cut down several trees for paper leaving birds with no place to live, but we also make it illegal to capture or kill certain animals. So we hurt yet we help this environment.
Lichen
Lichen, a producer, hold ups the whole food web. Without them eventually all the other organisms would die out. Even though it's small it's very important
Fox
The fox, a tertiary consumer, keeps the bird and rabbit population normal. Without them the population would surge and then the plant population would fall eventually starving them all out.
Spider
The spider, a secondary consumer, keeps the food web in line. It eats grasshoppers keeping there population down but it also is eaten by birds giving them a food source.
