TCS to Host June Graduation Events
Commencement exercises will be held at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater June 11-12 for all three of the system's high schools. The event will be a ticketed event with each graduate receiving seven (7) non-transferrable tickets. The graduation events will also be livestreamed on the TCS Youtube channel for those who are unable or do not feel comfortable attending an in-person event.
The Tuscaloosa City Schools asks that guests do not attend graduation ceremonies if you have a fever or other symptoms of COVID-19 including cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, and/or new loss of taste or smell. Those with compromised immune systems should not attend graduation ceremonies. If you are reluctant or concerned about attending graduation, this is completely understandable, as each must make the best choice for one’s self and family.
Participation in the graduation ceremony is a choice and students may choose not to attend. Each graduate's name will be called regardless of attendance with his/her name highlighted on the jumbotron. Each graduate will be listed in the program with honors noted; all graduates will receive a set of programs prior to the event.
The health and safety of our graduates and guests is our priority. For this reason, graduation planning remains fluid and subject to change based on the health guidelines from local, state and/or national guidance.
