SIXTH FORM

FROM THE HEADS OF SIXTH FORM

The students have had a very productive half term, and we are pleased with how well Year 12 have settled in to their studies and Sixth Form life. All students are well aware that they must spend some time on their studies over half term consolidating what they have learned so far. In addition Year 13 students should be finalising their UCAS applications. We wish you all a very refreshing break.

THANK YOU TO FIREWORKS HELPERS

There was an excellent response from the Year 12 and 13 students who turned up to help make the annual fireworks event such a success. Without your help directing parking, serving refreshments, supervising youngsters and cleaning up afterwards the event could not have run so smoothly. A very big THANK YOU to you all from the PTA and the staff.

PSYCHOLOGY LECTURES AT ROYAL HOLLOWAY

Year 12 and Year 13 psychology students attended a psychology evening at Royal Holloway on Tuesday. Students heard a number of mini lectures about social psychology and memory, two students volunteered to take part in one of the lectures and a number offered their opinions. Moreover, students were given the opportunity to take part in a couple of experiments which gave students an insight into university life studying psychology.

DEBATING CLUB

Miss Lamagna's Tuesday lunchtime debating club is growing in both numbers and popularity as news of the lively discussions and arguments spreads. Don't be left out - go along after half term to learn how to present your views on a subject clearly and convincingly!

SIXTH FORM SOCIAL FUND SUBSCRIPTIONS

After half term the heads of school and student leaders will be collecting your £45 subscription fee for the Social Fund. We would appreciate prompt payment as this money covers both the Christmas Party and the Summer Ball in June. Bookings and deposits for food and music etc will need to be made very soon.

Please bring your subscription as a cheque or cash in an envelope labelled with your name and 'Social Fund'. Cheques should be made out to 'Claires Court Sixth Form Social Fund' and NOT to 'Claires Court School'.
