The Falcon Flyer

March 2023

Dear Foothills Families,

We just finished out a fabulous February at Foothills. Thank you to all our parents who attended SEPs last month so we could celebrate the great things our students are doing and also set goals to finish the school year out strong. Please keep reading and working with your children on their math facts. It definitely helps!

We are looking forward to great things happening in March! We start off the month celebrating reading on March 2nd with a Dr. Seuss Reading Celebration Day. Students can dress like a Dr. Seuss character to kick off the special day and then many other exciting things will happen throughout the day. Please read below all about Dr. Seuss Day! We have the PTO Expressions Art Contest happening this month. Expressions entries are due March 24th and you can find the link and QR code to the entry form and rules for the contest below. This month also has some grade level programs and field trips. It is going to be a great month!

Registration for new kindergartners and returning students for the 2023-24 school year will open on March 1st. You can find more information on registration at the bottom of the newsletter. If you are looking for a preschool for the Fall 2023 school year our SPED Preschool has some tuition spots open. Please reach out to ladawna.cherepovich@nebo.edu for more information.

A genuine thank you for all the wonderful support you give to Foothills Elementary. We have such fabulous Falcons that come to Foothills. We appreciate the time and support that you consistently give us.

  • Students and Staff can dress up as Dr. Seuss characters.
  • Parents and Pastries Reading Activity from 7:30-8:55. Students can bring their parent or family member to school to read books and enjoy a doughnut from the PTO before school starts.
  • Reading activities throughout the day in class.
  • Every student will choose a new book to take home!

March Math Madness for grades 3-5

Math Madness is coming! During the month of March, we are holding a multiplication math facts competition with a bracket between the 3rd graders, a bracket between the 4th graders, and a bracket between the 5th graders. It will run like the March Madness basketball tournament. Have your kids practice their multiplication facts so they will be prepared for the first round this week. Here's a tip...accuracy beats speed! Scores in a tie will be broken by whoever was fastest. The championship round will be held at the end of the month.

Yearbooks On Sale Now!

We are currently selling our 2022-2023 yearbook! Yearbooks were NOT on sale in the Fall so if you want a yearbook you will want to order now. Yearbook orders will be available through March 15th. To order online click here (or use the QR code) and then click on "Buy My Student's Yearbook", enter the school name, city and state, and place your order. You can also scan the QR code here.
