HIGH SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL
November 17th, 2023
3,2,1… on live!
You can see how it feels to be a news anchor. Or how you should produce an interview to create a show. Also you can learn how to edit and record nice videos. And if you prefer, you can be the coordinator of all this and make the magic happen. All this in one (big!) club.
Visit the Framingham Studios and see all the amazing things that Flyer News and Early Bird are doing is so cool and inspiring. Just like in real TV , the students work super coordinated and are absolutely aware of everything that is going on, worried about the light, sound, posture, cameras, topics, guests, etc.
“You don’t need to know anything about TV or videos to be part of this and also it’s not only for the students who want to pursue a career in TV, in Journalism or in something like that. Everyone can be part of it. If you like and wanna experience the idea of making shows, creating videos, editing videos and stuff, you can come, have fun and you will learn all the roles. We do a rotation, so one week you are the cameraman, the other you are the anchor, the other you are checking the mics… Everybody can have a chance to check what they like the most.” explains Miguel Carreiro.
Find out some of your talents
Besides all the things you can learn if you are joining this club, you can also find out a lot of things about yourself, and your talents.
One good example is Prisha Ray, the student who was coordinating all the studio during a show with charisma, talent and a great sense of leadership. She looked super comfortable doing all kinds of roles, helping and giving directions to the other students. But when Prisha started it wasn’t like that.
“I was shy and came to work behind the scenes. Also I didn't want to pursue any TV career or something like that. I just came and thought that this was the coolest thing ever and I started feeling comfortable and learning all the roles. I already did everything: I did the anchor role, camera, production… and also how to manage things, organize, plan to do things. So definitely worked for me”, said Prisha.
