Information for Students Changing Instructional Models for Second Semester
If the student is returning to the face-to-face instructional model, we are on the 4+1 model. Students will be at school Monday-Thursday with e-learning at home on Fridays. Students will need to have their masks on as they arrive at school or at the bus stop and they will wear them throughout the day. Students will also need to bring a refillable water bottle with them daily as water fountains are not used for the safety of all. School doors open at 7:00, tardy bell rings at 7:50, and dismissal at 2 pm. If you need a car rider or walker tag, please stop by the front office with your ID. Thank you for reviewing the safety procedures listed below for the safety of your children. We are looking forward to having your students in the classroom.
Students Need to Bring a Mask to School
Please place an extra mask in their bookbag. This is great for if your child forgets, then they will have a spare with them to use.
Please keep the school nurse updated .................... (803) 821-0120 wrea@lexington1.net
As we return from Winter Break, it is important that we continue to monitor and contact trace for COVID.
Here is what we need to know:
1) If your student tests positive for COVID
2) If your student is identified as a close or household contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID
Please contact Wendy Rea, the school nurse, at 803-821-0120 or by email at wrea@lexington1.net to discuss the next steps.
Thank you for helping keep our school safe and healthy.

These days are typically 2-3 hours long, composed of a series of 15-minute small-group presentations. Parents and caregivers can choose the workshops that match their needs and are free to come for one workshop or many. The schedule of workshops will be made available prior to the event. These sessions are offered live and are not recorded for later viewing.

OGES Family Hub
Because of Covid and not being able to offer any parenting workshops this year, an OGES Family Hub has been created. You can access this hub by clicking on the following link:
https://sites.google.com/lexington1.net/oges-family-hub/home
or go to our school website and clicking on the link there.
Currently on the hub is a link from Mrs. Toste, our math coach, offering advice on how to engage your student by playing some math games! I have also included a video from Coach Shelby giving helpful insights on how to manage stress. Each week I will be sharing more resources from our staff on many various topics!
If there is a topic you want more information on, please let me know! As always, I can be reached at mlewis@lexington1.net or by calling 803-821-0150.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!

Safety Procedures
New procedures are in place to maintain the safety of our students, staff, and parents.
Parents may walk their child/children to the entrance of the school but we ask that you do not enter the building past the front office.
All students are required to wear a mask. If they do not have one, we will provide one for you before you enter the building.
Children will have time throughout the day to clean their hands and also provide mask breaks as we know wearing a mask during the school day will be a new learning experience.
In order to keep our staff and students safe, we are not allowing parents/guardians to deliver lunch or other items during the day.
We will be practicing social distancing in the classroom.
The students will be in one classroom during the day observing the family model. Social distancing will take place as movement occurs in the hallway.
Since we are in the family-style model, we will be eating lunch in our classrooms. We will be unable to accommodate having guests come to school to each lunch with their child or visit the classroom.
All rooms are equipped with hand sanitizer installed on the walls and individual pumps. We ask that everyone use our school provided hand sanitizer.
Plexiglass has been installed for all student desk areas.
