A note from the Principal...
Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that December is here. The school year is flying by, and it is a pleasure getting to know the CMS community. Our fall sports season was a great success, and winter sports are underway. The energy that comes with sports, and all of our extra-curricular offerings, is electrifying. From our Gaming, Homework, AV, Helpers, SAGA, Yearbook, and Science clubs to our BIPOC Students’ Association, the classroom, and the athletic court - CMS Hawks shine. If your child is interested in joining any of these activities, please, have them check in at the office for how to do so. Also, if parents are interested in volunteering at the school, please, outreach the office. We have a variety of ways that parents can help, and - if you are interested - we would love to get you connected to our parent group. Finally, as we are looking to recognize and celebrate the successes of our students, we will have a first semester recognition assembly on Friday, February 3rd, and families are welcome to attend. At the end of the year, we will have a recognition assembly for our sixth and seventh graders during the school day, and we will have an after-school eighth-grade celebration and recognition ceremony. As we have more specific details about these events, we will share them.
Finally, I want to express the deepest gratitude for the trust you have in us every day. It is a privilege to teach your children. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
Go Hawks,
Becky Parrill

A message from the Athletic Director...
I wanted to send a couple of reminders about attendance, grades and spectator participation for athletics.
Spectator Participation: Students are encouraged to support their peers at athletic events, however the students must have a parent or guardian present with them. There is no school assigned supervisor and no bus transportation for student spectators afterschool. In order to ensure the safety of all students, adequate parent supervision is required for student spectators.
Attendance: Student-athletes are expected to be at school all day and in classes in order to participate in athletics. If a student-athlete is not at school for any portion of the day they will not be able to practice or compete that day. Student-athletes who have excused absences for portions of the day due to appointments will be allowed to participate. Any athlete who is suspended from school or is currently assigned to In-School-Intervention (ISI) will not be allowed to participate in practices, contents, or presentations during the suspension period or detention dates.
Grades: We have begun our grade checks every two weeks. Per WIAA rules, if a student is failing one class at the time of the grade check, they are not eligible to compete until they are receiving passing grades. If a student is failing two or more classes at the time of the grade check they are not able to practice or compete until the next grade check period. We thank you for your continued partnership in supporting CMS students both academically and athletically!
