We Teach Alabama
In the toughest year we can remember, our teachers are doing a job we'll never forget. Because of their sacrifice, our children face brighter futures. Because of their dedication, our communities are pulling through.
On Thursday, November 12, the department of education announced Governor Ivey's proclamation making November 16-22, Thank Alabama Teachers Week. Individuals and businesses throughout the state are encouraged to express gratitude to the men and women currently going above and beyond for both their students and communities.
The challenges presented to Alabama teachers this year are unprecedented, and we want them to know how much they are appreciated and how much we see them, and all they are doing. From ensuring classrooms are safe for in-person learning to wrangling the new realities of online teaching, these exemplary Alabamians are to be commended and recognized.
Please join us and help promote this campaign. Resources will be available for you to access, download, and share on weteachalabama.com on Thursday.

I am from Greene County, Alabama, where I began studying music at Greene County High School. After I graduated from Greene County High School, I decided to attend Alabama State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education degree in music. Extra, Extra, Read All About It!!! Biden and Kamala Wins The Election!!!
Following a week of vote tallying, Joe Biden won the state of Pennsylvania and vaulted ahead in the race to become the next president of the United States. Biden’s win in the critical state put him over the threshold of 270 electoral votes, cutting off all avenues for his opponent.
Biden prevailed by flipping key states that went to Trump in 2016, including Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Trump again won in Florida and Ohio, but in the end, was unable to chart a path to an electoral victory. Biden also leads by millions in the popular vote, with a record number of votes cast this year, many through the mail. Kamala Harris will make history in myriad ways, becoming the first woman — and the first woman of color — to occupy the office of vice president. Harris, a California senator, and the state’s former attorney general built a career in the tech industry’s front yard.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month
With over 34 million Americans living with diabetes every day, chances are you know someone with diabetes, or maybe you have diabetes yourself.
As an educator, you know that diabetes does not define someone, but that education, exercise, appropriate medications, and diet are important elements for living a healthy life with diabetes.
Although it can be managed, there is no cure for diabetes. If someone doesn’t manage their condition, it can lead to severe health issues such as kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, blindness, or amputations. Learning to manage diabetes is key to preventing these serious complications.
