Going Digital!
March 2015
Can you believe it is already March? Time sure flies when you have a delay, early closing, and/or day off every week since Winter Break!
And, for a little fun as we enter PARCC - Has anyone been hearing about or seeing this dress on social media, news, or radio? While I'm sick of it, I saw this little parody and thought I'd share. [If you have no idea what I am talking about, check out this article from Wired.]

Questioning (Continued)
Last month I shared an article about questioning strategies. Currently I am taking a course that has also focused on the rigor of questioning. Here's a sweet little resource to peruse if you are interested in improving your questioning.
Questioning Flip Book (Teacher as Architect 2nd Edition)
"This Questioning Flip Book is a quick reference guide to help teachers plan the types of questions they will use during their lessons. Sample questions are aligned to higher order thinking skills giving users concrete examples of lower and higher level questions."

DIY PD...Just Under 5 Minutes!
I'm still relatively new to Twitter, but after talking to Nick he set me straight in just a matter of minutes. It's not like my email where I feel the need to check it every five minutes, but when I have a few minutes or need my own brain break, I open it up. Wow! In a matter of minutes it's an instant PD session by reading a quick professional article, participating in an EdChat, or viewing something someone from BCPS has posted (it's like a virtual field trip into classrooms).
BCPS has a comprehensive site to learn more about Twitter; check it out! You will learn the difference between @ and #. There is a direct link to setup a Twitter account. A short seven minute video will help you understand how connecting with other educators via Twitter can help improve your lessons and allow students to reach out to collaborate with others around the world (makes me think of P21 skills).
