PARENT COMMUNITY
Primary School - December Edition
EMPATHY
The character word for the month of December is Empathy. The Primary School defines empathy with one word, understanding. Sometimes as adults we have trouble "understanding" others or their points of view. We strive to teach our children to understand how another child would feel in a certain situations.
We challenge you to have conversations with your children about being to be empathetic; about using empathy on the playground, in the classroom, or while in the cafeteria. If each child demonstrates empathy toward fellow Woodward students, we can help foster a pleasant environment of understanding.
As always, the primary goal of the Parent Community is to support and foster just what the name implies: a community. If you have a suggestion or concern, please don't hesitate to reach out to us with your thoughts at WAPSparentcommunity@gmail.com.
The Parent Community would like to wish all of the Primary School faculty, staff, students and parents a wonderful holiday season and enjoyable winter break. We look forward to seeing you in 2016!
Halloween Parade and Parties were a Success!
It is a very exciting day full of costumes and performances while picnicking on the Primary School playground. In addition, there is a school-wide costume parade that is not to be missed, followed by classroom parties filled with games, food, fun and take-home goody bags!
Halloween is one of the three major parties at the Primary School and is never a disappointment. For all the parents who came out to volunteer and support our children and the Primary School, we express our thanks. It was a hit, and the kids left happy with great memories to cherish!
