A Message from the Principal
Hello Beech Families,
This week I got the unexpected gift of time as a few meetings were cancelled. I used that time to be with our students. Your children are working hard each day to relearn forgotten material, access knowledge that they haven't had to use for a while, and remain engaged in their learning environment. So many of our students are trying their best to complete tasks, follow directions, and be a respectful member of our school. For those reasons, I am thankful. I also had a chance to see some areas where we can support your children and I love how our teachers are approaching this! Small group instruction is occurring daily! Teachers are planning lessons based on individual student needs and are working hard to engage them when they are frustrated. I am excited to see the continued academic growth in each of our students and know that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Thank you for all that you do to support our Beech staff as they support your children. Together we are going to do amazing things this year!

December to Remember
Each day that we have school in December the students and staff at Beech will be able to participate in fun activities. Please see the calendar of events below to help get your children excited for the fun!
We understand that there are some families that do not celebrate Christmas and we want you to know that the only Christmas specific item we have will be Santa. He will housed in a classroom and students who would like to visit will be able to go there. Students who do not celebrate with a Santa will have other fun activities to do for winter celebration.
Safety at Arrival and Dismissal
- The entrance for the parking lot is the second entrance. PLEASE do not enter the parking lot from the EXIT ONLY area. If you are driving down Pembroke towards the parking lot you should ONLY be entering through the second entrance.
- Please only cross at the crosswalk. Parents are walking through moving lines of traffic to get their children and our fear is that someone will not see you and a pedestrian will get hit.
- If you are walking up to get your child, please come to the crosswalk area and WAIT for a staff member to tell you it is safe to cross. When you are leaving we ask that you do the same thing and that you only use the crosswalk to walk.
- If you are on the phone you may be distracted. We encourage you to end your phone conversations so that you can hear the staff directions.
- If approached by a member of our staff who is asking you to follow the safety procedures please refrain from yelling at them. They are just doing their job to keep students, staff, and families safe.
- Please do not get out of your vehicle if you are driving through the pick up lanes - we will make sure that your children get to your vehicles.
- Mask wearing has become a bigger issue and many students are not bringing their mask to school. Please do your part in helping to prevent illness by having your child put their mask on prior to entering the parking lot. It is faster and easier to get into the building when they have the masks ready to go.

Student Birthday Celebrations
Beech does not allow for cupcakes, balloons, pizza, etc, to be brought in to celebrate student birthdays. We know that this could be disappointing for some children and for that we apologize. We have to monitor for food allergies and ensure that academic time is honored. Thank you for your support and understanding.
