A Peek at our Week...

-This week we finished reading Escape North! The Story of Harriet Tubman. We also watched a short video. The students have learned quite a bit about the Underground Railroad. At the beginning of this unit, many students believed the Underground Railroad was a railroad that was underground. Ask them what they have learned and how they feel about Harriet Tubman and slavery. Along with the story we worked on adjectives and describing character's traits.

-We began money this week. We will continue into next week. Keep counting coins and making change at home. Thank you!

-We are wrapping up our biography writing. Next week the students will share what they have learned with their peers. We will then begin writing The ABC's of Harriet Tubman.

Star of the Week...Caitlin!!!

Caitlin has a brother, a fish and a dog named Geneva! Her favorite subject is DEAR and her favorite food is Wisconsin Mac and Cheese! She hopes to someday be a gymnastics coach! She read to us a very entertaining book entitled The Book With No Pictures. (This "picture" book really doesn't have any pictures!) She also shared with us her marshmallow shooter!!

Great job, Caitlin!
