This annual award is named after Sister Rita Mackert, a lifelong educator who taught in Strongsville for over 50 years, and is awarded to a teacher who goes above and beyond for students each and every day. Mrs. Hoslar has introduced innovative teaching practices in her classroom to help her students become more engaged and take ownership of their learning. Mr. Bryan Bent is starting his ninth year working for our District. Mr. Bent is a Health and Physical Education teacher and also teaches a Sports Management course at Strongsville High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Slippery Rock University and his graduate degree from CalU (Pennsylvania).
“I enjoy getting to know my students and having conversations that include more than just academics. Building strong relationships goes a long way with our students. I love that my Sports Management class is always changing and evolving. We try to highlight our athletic teams and athletes in as many ways as possible. From collecting highlight clips to filming their senior night videos – we do our best to make their time here at Strongsville special.”

Seeing countless athletes have amazing careers and have the opportunity to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level is something that I’m truly blessed to be a part of.”
Thank you Mr. Bent for all that you do to help our high school students grow and develop both inside and outside of the classroom! #ModelMustang
“HERE COMES THE BUS” APP FOR SCS FAMILIES
"Here Comes The Bus" is an app for SCS families to track busing information and routes for their student(s), as well as real-time notifications.
The app and complementary website (www.herecomesthebus.com) - available on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, or personal computer - enables parents to see the location of their child’s school bus on its daily route.
Download the "Here Comes the Bus" app to monitor daily transportation information. Families that utilized the app last year will need to delete last year’s student information and add their current year information in order to receive the latest routing details and updates. Click HERE for additional information and instructions on utilizing the app for your student's bus routes.
