Reading Instruction for English Language Learners
Time: 8:30am to 3:30pm
Location: Tulsa Technology Center Health Sciences Center, 3420 S Memorial Drive

Ever wonder if teaching reading to English Language Learners is different than teaching reading to native English speakers? In this interactive session, teachers will participate in a book study of "Research-Based Methods of Reading Instruction for English Language Learners" by Linan Thompson and Vaughn. Teachers will learn how these methods fit in the WIDA Framework and take away some practical strategies to implement in the classroom. Because everyone will receive a book, the class size is capped at 50.
