Veterans Day Assembly at Veterans Park School
We were thrilled that many of our visitors stayed after the assembly to spend time together talking and getting to know one another's stories. We were honored that you joined us.
Announcing VP's First Annual Science Fair December 19th- 3:00-3:45
This year, the fifth graders learned about the Scientific Method, which is a process that scientists use to test their ideas. To put their knowledge to the test, they worked together in groups to plan out and complete their own experiments based on topics they were curious about. Students were guided through the process by Mrs. Shaban and Mrs. Rivera, carefully constructing a testable question that had an organized procedure, relevant qualitative and quantitative data, and variables. Fifth graders will be sharing the outcome of their experiments with their parents and the fourth graders at the very first VP Science Fair on December 19 from 3:00-3:45. They look forward to showing off their new knowledge as experienced scientists-please join us for this special event!
VP Logo Update Contest
We are looking to you for a new eagle logo to represent our school. Eagles symbolize many different qualities: wisdom, strength, courage, honesty and freedom. Our school needs a logo that embodies these qualities. All are welcome to submit your personal drawing of an eagle.
Parents, students and staff of Veterans Park are encouraged to stretch their creative wings and contribute their personal vision of the logo. Logo entries should be:
- drawn in black ink
- use special 4x4 paper that will be available in the office
- submitted to the office no later than December 22nd
We are very grateful to Mara Freeman who will be assisting with refining the drawing for reproduction on our school spirit wear and letterhead. Our logo contest is a wonderful opportunity to try a new artistic endeavor!
If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Anderson.
