November is here!
It is a significant accomplishment that we have made it one quarter of the way through the school year offering in-person learning amidst the height of the pandemic. I know that there have been difficulties (and we will continue to see some setbacks) but we should all feel grateful that students are, for the most part, enjoying the socialization and instruction that they deserve. I have personally enjoyed witnessing TONS of quality learning in classrooms throughout the school. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, let's be grateful for the good things this Fall and continue to hope for better times to come.
I want to provide you with some updates and reminders of events and dates that are coming up, including several non-school days:
No School on Friday, Nov 5: Teacher grading day and end of quarter 1.
PT Conferences are online during the evenings of November 8-9. Please contact your child's teacher if you did not receive an invitation, or call the main office for assistance.
Early Release on Wednesday, Nov 10. Students will be able to receive a grab 'n go lunch before dismissal. Busing will still be available. All routes and departure times are 3 hours earlier than normal. Times are as follows for dismissal:
Elementary - 11:35
Middle School - 11:40
No School on November 11-12: As we celebrate Veterans Day on Thursday, Sublimity School would like to say thank you to all our veterans. We honor you for your sacrifice in the service of our great country!
PTC: Our next meeting will be online at 3:00 on Monday, November 8. Find the video link here and on our website.
Attendance Reminder: Please call the office any time your child is missing school for the day. You can call and leave a message or call when the office opens at 7:00.
Lost and Found: Our stash is growing! Next week we will be hanging lost items along the fence at the elementary school during student pickup time (weather permitting). Take a look!

We continue to have some students that are not adhering to the mask mandate regularly. This is important because it can put other students at risk of having to quarantine, even when they themselves are following the guidelines. The Dean of Students and I have begun individual conversations with students who are reluctant to comply and wear their masks properly. Most students have been very responsive and are giving genuine effort to improve, and we appreciate that. For those who continue to not wear their mask properly, however, we will be contacting parents to discuss the possibility of other options, including online learning. Please encourage your child to follow these guidelines so that we can minimize the number of students who have to quarantine due to contact tracing.
Again, thank you for your hard work and support as we work together to provide the best possible education for you children. Be safe and have a wonderful weekend.
Mr. Westenskow
