2. If you want to secure your spot on the senior trip, you must pay $25 by September 15th. We will be going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas in May 2023. This is a school trip. 3. If you are not interested in the package, individual prom tickets will go on sale in January.
SENIOR CLASS FUNDRAISER
PRO GRAD-GRADUATING SENIORS
Senior Parents, WE NEED YOU! Pro Grad is a Drug-Free and Alcohol-Free Party to celebrate the Class of 2023. The event will be held in late May. It takes lots of planning and fundraising to make the event a success. We hope to offer many prizes to our grads including laptops, gift cards, dorm refrigerators, TVs, AirPods, microwaves and more. Region 13 Choir District Auditions
On Saturday, September 17th – 12th Austin choir students competed at the Texas Music Educators Association Region 13 Choir District Auditions --we are happy to announce that 9 out of the 12 placed in the District Choir and will advance to compete at the Texas Music Educators Association Region 13 Region choir auditions which will be held on October 15th here at Austin. Congratulations to all of our choir students that competed!!! The following is the list of students that placed in District and will move to round two of the All-State Choir process.

AHS CAMERATA ORCHESTRA DESIGNATION!
Congratulations to our very own orchestra BULLDOGS who were recognized as National Winners!
The AHS Camerata Orchestra earned the designation of a National winner for the 2022 Mark of Excellence/Orchestra Honors Project.
376 Entries from 39 States were received this year. National Winners comprise the top quarter of entries.

Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election Information Sessions
Fort Bend ISD is hosting three community information sessions this month on the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election, which will generate additional revenue for the district while sustaining the current tax rate.
During its August 22 regular business meeting, the FBISD Board of Trustees approved the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) which will fund police officers at every elementary campus, increase employee compensation and maintain educational programs of choice. The VATRE will appear on the ballot in the upcoming November 8, 2022 election.
The information sessions will give community members an opportunity to receive detailed information about the VATRE and ask any questions they may have. All FBISD community members are welcome to attend.
Spanish translators will be available at all three sessions. A sign language interpreter will be available at the September 26 session held at Dulles High School’s Rodgers Auditorium.
Below are the VATRE community information session dates and locations:
The first session is Wednesday, September 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Austin High School in the auditorium (3434 Pheasant Creek Drive, Sugar Land, 77498).
The second session is Monday, September 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dulles High School’s Rodgers Auditorium (550 Dulles Avenue, Sugar Land, 77478).
The third session is Wednesday, September 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hightower High School in the auditorium (3333 Hurricane Lane, Missouri City, 77459).

I am originally from Louisiana and we moved here from Virginia in 2015. Grants for Special Education Students
Families of qualifying students will receive online accounts to purchase goods or services that help their student access public school and/or health related services at home or where care is provided.
SSES+ accounts begin with a $5,000 grant. Families are able to request additional funds for more expensive items through TEA. This form is only available through the SSES+ award email.
There is currently enough funding for all students who are identified as medically fragile. This funding is separate and apart from the current SSES program.

Please also remember that students should be in their classrooms prior to 7:30, please remember that traffic is heaviest from 7:15-7:30. We recommend that students arrive by 7:15, to allow ample time to be in their classroom by 7:30.

STUDENT PARKING PERMITS
Hello Senior and Junior Students.
As we return for the 2022-23 School Year, Senior Students will have the opportunity to purchase Preferred Parking for $75; all other student parking(Senior/Junior) will cost $50.
To purchase parking all seniors and juniors must have:
Completed the online application
A Valid Texas Driver's License
Valid Insurance showing the student's name as an insured driver
No outstanding fines on the AHS Fine List
Must be on record as a Junior/Senior by August 2022

Students who have purchased their parking permits for the 2022-23 school year can come and pick them up on August 8 and August 9, 2022 in office 108 between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM.
Juniors can pick up their parking permits when school starts in office 108 during lunch only and before August 12.
To pick your permit up you must bring:
A copy of the parking permit rules signed by a parent.
A photocopy of your receipt.
STUDENT DROP-OFF
Dear AHS Parents,
Welcome back to another Exciting Year at Austin High School, Home of The Bulldogs!!
We would like to share some information with you regarding Morning Student Drop-Off.
The best time to drop your student off at AHS with little to no traffic is usually between 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM. After 7:15 AM the traffic flow becomes heavy and students risk being late to 1st period.
Areas for Drop-Off: Front Circle and Student Parking Lot Area (Northside of the Building)
Please Do Not Attempt To Drop Your Student Off on The Bus Ramp Side of the Building, That is Not Allowed, this area is for School Vehicles and School Personnel Only!
