ECAP Moving Forward
During this time of transition away from AzCIS, we at ADE would just like to assure you that we are here to support you. As you move forward with creating new systems for ECAP delivery and documentation, we understand that some student data from AzCIS may not be available. AzCIS is not set up to save portfolios in bulk which can bring barriers and challenges to saving student data. Please don’t use valuable district resources copying and saving individual portfolios if it is not in the best interest of the student. It might be beneficial to run reports based upon assessments and inventories to drive your school counseling program and meet student needs. ADE is your partner in this transition and we will consider lack of access to AzCIS data when completing ECAP compliance reviews for the school year 2020-2021. Individual students will not be held accountable for incomplete ECAPS due to transition away from AzCIS. As you are developing your plans for next year, please don’t have students “back track” in order to fill in gaps.
Don’t forget to join us for a webinar “ECAP without AzCIS” on July 22nd hosted by AzCAN featuring Amanda Nolasco your School Counselor Specialist from ADE along with school counselors who will share how they have created platforms for students to easily document their ECAP.

ECAP plays an important role as we work with our students during their educational journey but we are still in a time of uncertainty. The number one focus should be on the social/emotional and mental health of students and staff as they transition back to school or continue with remote learning. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance or support.
