St. Baldricks 2023
Anderson Community giving back to others!
St. Charles Challenge 2023
Dear Anderson Friends and Families,
Have you ever considered what it might take to help save someone’s life? What if all it took was to shave your head? Every year, thousands of brave men, women, and children have joined the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and shed their locks in support of childhood cancer research. I invite you to make a “bald” statement and join us on Friday, March 10th 2023 at St. Charles East High School! Support this cause by shaving your head including registering online, raising money, and showing up at the main event! Please support us in our pursuit to raise funds to help eradicate the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. We will be selling “Lucky Charms” which are going to be a dollar donation towards St. Baldrick’s. A “Lucky Charm” is where you can write your name on the charm and it will be posted as a supporter of St. Baldrick’s Foundation. These will be available in the classroom shortly.
Our goal is to raise $3,000 as a school. This will include hair extensions, donations raised online from getting your head shaved, and even getting a “Lucky Charm”. As an event, we would like to try and raise at least $20,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation which grants funds for childhood research. Our goal this year is to have as many people and schools participate at the event! Last year Anderson Gives Back raised $2,500. This year we set our goal at $3,000. As a whole event we raised over $20,000. For St. Baldrick’s.
We will be putting pictures up in the lunchroom as supporters of those that have gotten a green hair extension or are getting their head shaved.
St. Baldrick’s events have raised approximately $150 million, providing research grants to doctors and scientists at more than 200 institutions. Going bald is not for everyone. But you can still help! Visit www.St.Baldricks.org click Get Involved, event name is St. Charles Challenge (or give me a call at 630-921-1978, or st.charleschallenge@gmail.com ) to see
other ways to be involved! You can sign up to be a volunteer, set up a fundraising page, make a donation on behalf of a participant (or to the event as a whole) or simply help us by spreading the word.
Together, let’s Conquer Kids’ Cancer!
Sincerely,
Brooks Nicewarner
