THIS WEEK ON THE RIDGE
This week we had much to celebrate! We hosted our 2nd Annual Leadership Day. We held a morning and evening event for parents, community members and other NEISD Elementary Schools. Student Leaders presented information about leadership roles, school clubs, school wide goals and grade level data boards.
Teachers and students celebrated the 100th Day of School this past Tuesday. Check out our Kinder Teachers as they dressed as 100 year old Teachers.
PTA recognized two of our staff members as well as two parent volunteers during the NEISD Council of PTAS Founders' Day Celebration this past Thursday evening. These 4 were awarded as Texas Life Honorees for their dedication and service to children and schools. Congratulations to Marcie Hanz, 5th grade teacher, Sammy Gutierrez, Assistant Head Custodian, Jenny Luvisi and Shelli McPherson, Parent Volunteers.
We ended the week recognizing our School Counselors Mrs. Coral Bacon and Mrs. Kelley Grams for National School Counseling Week. Our Coyote community is so lucky to have both of these ladies working on behalf of all of our Coyotes and their families!
PTA brought Drum Cafe to Canyon Ridge for a morning assembly. All students and staff were given a drum to use during the presentation. The 7 Habits, student leadership and character were all part of the presentation.

The Volunteer Program is the bridge between our community and the best interests of the students in the North East Independent School District. Our goal is to help students gain the academic skills and the self-confidence necessary to become successful learners, while reaching their fullest potential in the community. Our department acts as a point of contact for volunteers and mentors. We work with our schools and other education support groups to identify those practices that benefit students the most, and then marshal resources to pilot and expand successful programs.
The Volunteer Program will automatically resubmit active volunteer applications every 2 years for a criminal history background. There is no need for you to reapply. If you do not volunteer within a twelve month period, your account may be inactivated. Call the Volunteer Program to update it.
