A Note from the Principal
Greetings Longhorn Family!
After Hours Safety
Please note that the campus does not provide supervision for students that are not picked up by 3:30 p.m. Also, students staying for an after hours event must be with a sponsor. Students are not allowed to roam the building or re-enter the building after school without an adult sponsor.
Skyward - Check Your Child's Progress
Review reports card grades, attendance, and discipline with your child regularly. Set behavior and academic goals for the new grading cycle. Contact our Registrar if you are having trouble logging in to Skyward.
Be on Time!
The school day begins at 7:30 a.m. Please make sure your child arrives on time everyday. Students should be in their class ready for instruction at 7:30. Students that are arriving at 7:30 or later are missing valuable instruction time. Students should also be on time to their classes throughout the school day.
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

STUDENTS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS
We have several students with medical conditions and no current doctor’s orders. If your student has food allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures or any other health conditions that need medication or special precautions, we need new doctor’s orders each school year.
For the safety of all students, they may not carry over the counter (OTC) or prescription medication. All medication will be kept in the clinic. Asthma inhalers are the only exception with a CHISD Asthma Action Plan on file and a pharmacy label on the inhaler.
Original packaging is required for all medications. The school clinic will keep OTC medication for 5 days and prescriptions for 10 days. Parents need to write a note that the includes the following: student's name and date of birth; medication name, dose, time and reason medication is to be given. OTC and Prescription medication will be kept for the school year with a signed CHISD Doctor’s Order Form on file in the clinic.
A link to the CHISD Doctor’s Order Forms can found on my webpage at chisd.net/Page/2797

Athletic Games
Parents we want to encourage positive vocal support. Please ensure that your child adheres to the following:
- No running in the bleachers
- No congregating under the bleachers
- No backpacks allowed at Longhorn Stadium (High School) or Old Longhorn Stadium.
- ID’s are required or No entry is allowed.
Parents, with your help we want to encourage our students to display good sportsmanship, respect, and to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Let’s work together to further establish a culture of respect everywhere. Lastly, please pick your child up in a timely manner following all games in the district.
