Urban Planning at Chatsworth Park UPD
An excellent collaboration of Urban Planning learning for 5th-grade students at Chatsworth Park UPD thanks to CSUN students. Current UPD CSUN students presented a walk-through experience of storyboards to the Chatsworth Park students enlisting them in their opinions on their findings about their neighborhood. Thanks to Principal Garringer for bringing this fantastic collaboration to the students at your school.
"Eat Healthy, Be Active" at Hart St. Elementary
In partnership with CSUN, Marilyn Magaram Center for Food, Science, and Nutrition, Hart St. Elementary provided a wonderful parent workshop this month. Our parents are very interested in learning about nutrition and well-being, so they can have a healthy living environment at home. Under the Stars Movie Night at Beckford
Movie under the stars brought the Beckford community out for a night of great community building. This free event had a record-breaking attendance! The Cub Scouts are back at Superior Street! Pack 226 has a long history in our area. It was established in Chatsworth in 1946! Cub Scouts is for all boys and girls in the community from Kindergarten through 5th grade. They meet every other Tuesday at 6:30pm in the Superior Street school auditorium. Canoga Park HS welcomes Rams for student athletes
Canoga Park High School hosted a wonderful experience for student-athletes interested in playing collegiate sports after high school. Glenn Terry, Director of Outreach and Strategic Partnerships from the NCAA Eligibility Center along with representatives from the LA Rams came to speak to students to encourage working hard so they can continue to be successful in their sports and academic career after high school. Students were all given Ram's caps! We look forward to seeing the next wave of student-athletes at the collegiate level!
Nevada Fall Festival Fun
What do you get with over 25 volunteers, games, popcorn, cotton candy, photo ops and Leo the Lion? Nevada's Fall Festival 2022! Another wonderful celebration for the Nevada community to enjoy the start of Fall with some great festivities for the entire school.
Germain St. students "Hoop It Up"
Germain Elementary PTA sponsored a Hoop It Up assembly so support healthy bodies and healthy minds. How many hula hoops can you do? Students at Germain ES had fun through this interactive assembly trying their best to get the most reps! It was wonderful to see our Palaminos having fun while exercising and enjoying the wonderful sunshine!
Beckford Walk & Roll
Beckford participated in the nationwide Walk & Roll to School Day. Parents, students and staff walked around the Beckford Field while they enjoyed music and snacks before school commenced for the day. Families who lived nearby were encouraged to walk to school and those that lived a little farther away, they parked a few blocks from school and walked to school the rest of the way. Beckford encourages healthy bodies for healthy minds for their school community! Way to go Beckford!

The day of the dead is a Mexican celebration that honors the deceased and dates back to pre-Hispanic times. The offering is made up of fruits such as tejocote, tangerine, orange and sugar cane for the food of the deceased, these represent the earth.

Fall Festival at Topeka
Topeka hosted its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 29th. Students and their families enjoy trunk or treating, carnival games, food, and even join in on a pumpkin carving contest. To kick off Fall Festival week, Topeka also had Spirit Week to get the students excited about Fall Festivities. Fun all around at Topeka to get the holidays started!
Trunk or Treat at Superior Street
The Superior Street PTA hosted a fantastic Trunk or Treat outside of the school on Friday, October 28, 2022. Cars were decked out in spooky fashion. Families came in costumes, and the candy was plentiful. A safe, fun, and Spooktacular time was had by all!
PRCS educates parents on Safety on Social Media
Porter Ranch Community School invited the Organization for Social Media Safety to our campus for a parent workshop on HOW TO KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. We offered a workshop in person as well as an evening Zoom to offer choices for our parents to be able to attend. On the same day, we had student assemblies focused on social media safety for 5th – 8 th grade students. Parents and students should continue to have conversations about how to stay safe when using social media. The Organization for Social Media Safety is the first consumer protection organization focused exclusively on social media. They provide their social media safety presentations at schools all across the country, advocate for public policies that improve social media safety and develop technology to provide real-time protection against any and all social media-related dangers. They are advised by a panel of experts that includes educators, psychologists, physicians, and technologists. If you would like to learn more about them, you can refer to their website at

Chatsworth High School school spirit!
Chatsworth High School started off its Homecoming weekend with a school-wide pep rally including band, cheer, and dance performances. Go Chancellors!
