PRCS educates parents on Safety on Social Media

Porter Ranch Community School invited the Organization for Social Media Safety to our campus for a parent workshop on HOW TO KEEP YOUR KIDS SAFE ON SOCIAL MEDIA. We offered a workshop in person as well as an evening Zoom to offer choices for our parents to be able to attend. On the same day, we had student assemblies focused on social media safety for 5th – 8 th grade students. Parents and students should continue to have conversations about how to stay safe when using social media. The Organization for Social Media Safety is the first consumer protection organization focused exclusively on social media. They provide their social media safety presentations at schools all across the country, advocate for public policies that improve social media safety and develop technology to provide real-time protection against any and all social media-related dangers. They are advised by a panel of experts that includes educators, psychologists, physicians, and technologists. If you would like to learn more about them, you can refer to their website at or contact them directly at or 855-446-3767.
