Kindness Club at OMS

Seven OMS student leaders initiated a Kindness Club which promotes school wide acceptance of others and works to spread cheer within our halls. They meet weekly during the Wednesday lunch time and collaborate on ideas about how to show kindness to others. They are working to adopt a movement out of Florida, in which students are not left to eat alone at the lunch table, called "Dine Together". The group works to identify students who may feel alone and connect with them while at school, both in the lunchroom and in the halls. Students also like to spread happiness by writing anonymous notes and delivering them around the school.

One student recently commented, "This is what I wanted to the Kindness Club to be about, people getting together in a relaxed environment learning about each other, being nice and having fun with new friends."

Sports at OMS

Track and Field starts right after spring break!

Health News

Spring is in the air! As we know there will be an increase in pollens (trees, grasses and weeds) over the next few months. Your child may suffer from allergies, you know the symptoms: coughing sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose, scratchy throat and sometimes hives Please review and update your child’s seasonal allergy and action plans with your healthcare provider and then fill out an Allergy or Asthma Action Plan for your student- which are available in the school office. List allergy, triggers, medications and phone numbers. Make sure your school is aware of your child’s asthma/allergies so they can provide the necessary help, including medication if needed.

Band Corner

April 20th: Advanced Band to OSU Middle School Band Festival all-day at OSU

April 24th: Jazz Band to Redmond Jazz Festival all-day at RHS

Student Safety...

Parents-

Due to student safety concerns we must ask that students not be picked up or dropped off in the North Parking lot. This lot is for busses and staff parking only. Please use the South driveway off of Obsidian Avenue or the curb on 15th street.

Thank you!

State Testing Begins

SBAC testing begins for Language Arts, Math and Science students after the spring break. Your teachers will communicate specific dates. Please remember that during testing weeks its so important that your student is here, well rested and has had a good breakfast. Studies show that those are key elements to successful testing.
