Also, if you plan to take your child home early from the party, please change your school dismissal manager to "Leave Early." Teachers will be using School Dismissal Manager to release students early to families.
Smart Watches and Electronics Reminder
Families, this is just a friendly reminder about smart watches. We have been having issues with students wearing smart watches and calling/texting parents or receiving text messages during the day. Please have students leave smart watches at home.
The LVISD District student code of conduct prohibits the use of electronic devices such as cell phones and smart watches. If a student wears a smart watch to school the teacher will ask for him/her to put it away in their backpack or it will be turned into the office. This is the same practice we use for cell phones and all other communication devices.
Making Music and Memories in Music Memory
Last Friday, the students had a special guest to help them with their upcoming UIL contest. Mrs. Allison Sargent from Sargent Strings came to play the UIL music on the violin for the students. The students were able to learn first hand from a professional musician and even had the chance to practice playing the violin. A huge thank you to Allison Sargent for visiting with the students!
Thank You Parent Volunteers
Our school looks so festive for Valentine's Day! A huge thank you to all the families that sent in decorations and an extra special thank you to the moms that decorated the school. The students epecially love their locker decorations. LVIS looks sweet!
2024 SOUPER BOWL SPREAD RAFFLE
For $10, purchase a chance to win one of three dinners for eight people for Super Bowl Sunday, February 11, 2024. Our local chef Becky Pfile will be cooking up a hot soup or chili dinner including appetizers, dessert and drinks with free delivery to the 78645 zip code area. Don't want or need a dinner, how about donating a ticket for a teacher? We'll mark the ticket with TEACHER and if drawn, will pick from a list of names of all teachers and staff in the Lago Vista ISD school district. Drawings will be held on Friday, February 2nd at Lago Vista High School during half time of the Viking's basketball game. Your dollars will be used to provide grants to teachers for innovative teaching programs in the Lago Vista school district. Thank you for your support!

Take Care of Texas Art Contest
At LVIS, we have some AMAZING artists! I want to encourage students to participate and enter the “Take Care of Texas Kids Art Contest.” The Contest is a fun way for K-5 students to learn about protecting the environment and come up with creative ways to share this knowledge with others! This year's theme is all about recycling. All artwork must depict positive ways to take care of the environment by recycling in addition to containing the phrase “Take Care of Texas”
The prizes include a tablet or laptop computer. Good luck Vikings! For more information, visit the website at https://takecareoftexas.org/index.php/kids/k-5-art-contest
