What is the Nervous system

The nervous system is a network of nerve cells and fibers that transmits nerve impulses between parts of the body. The nerve impulses causes a reaction which can be automatic and involuntary. The nervous system is a complex network of nerves and cells that carry messages to and from the brain and spinal cord to various parts of the body. The nervous system also controls what the body and the parts of the body. The sensory input of the nervous system responds to the stimuli and sends the nerve input to the central nervous system. Integration is when the central nervous system receives and processes sensory input and decides what to do.

Parts of the Nervous System

The central nervous system is made up of the brain and the spinal cord.

The peripheral nervous system is made up of the nerve fibers that branch of from the spinal cord and extend to all parts of the body, including the neck and arms, torso, legs, skeletal muscles and internal organs.

The basic working unit of the nervous system is called a neuron. The human brain contains almost 100 neurons.A neuron consists of a cell body containing the nucleus, and a special

Extinctions called axons and dendrites.

The center of the nervous system is the brain. The brain takes in what your eyes see and your ears hear, and if you decide you want to move around, your brain tells what your muscles need to do.
