A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Illustrious Leaders,
This week marks the second week of the six weeks. I can not believe how quickly the start of school has come.
Thank you for a great Northwest Cluster PD of learning and growing together! Thank you to Mrs. Loskot for training us on being successful in the implementation of the 7 Habits in The Leader in Me.
It was exciting to see our teams working together to use the Uncommon Schools rubrics to guide and enrich our revised culture rubrics to ensure for successful alignment across our Northwest Cluster campuses. This planning and preparation will ensure that we are owning our work on true alignment across our network cluster. After I make the revisions from the work and feedback given yesterday on the rubrics, we will be ready to "take it live" and begin to work towards "EXEMPLARY" status for ALL our campuses.
This week, we will continue that work on Alignment, Culture and Climate as well as Implementation of the 7 Habits.
As we begin to take a 'deep dive' into the full implementation of our Leader in Me Habits as a cluster, remember that it is not about just posting the habits, but it is about embedding the habits in your daily language with students, staff, and the community. It is also about believing in the habits such that you live the habits.
This week, focus on HABIT #1-BE PROACTIVE. You're in Charge remember that you are a responsible person and take initiative. Choose your actions, attitudes, and moods. Do not blame others for your wrong actions. Do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking.
You have the opportunity to BE PROACTIVE in your Leadership. Stephen Covey states that "Leadership is communicating people's worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired that they see it in themselves." Don't wait to tell your teachers how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication to our scholars. When you see greatness, communicate it. By being proactive in your words and dedicated actions, others then see their worth and yours through your eyes. Imagine how many staff you can inspire to be the best!
Rest, rejuvenate so that you can come back stronger than ever on Tuesday ready for our scholars! They count on you to be 100% plus!
Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!
Here is to another stellar week!

PDP PLANS
Last year, teachers submitted their PDP on SchoolNet. This year, the primary evaluator will need to keep up with Professional Development Plans for their teachers at the campus level. PDP documentation will need to be kept at the campus level. Some of you may have created an Excel spreadsheet or a google drive for this. Just in case you still need something for your teachers to submit, click the button below to see an example that you can use for your teachers.
New Online Platform for TEI
CORNERSTONE FOR TEI
All TEI tasks will be entered in Corner Stone. Attached is a document with links to Quick Reference Guides and videos on how to submit TEI tasks in Cornerstone. All administrators should review these short instructional videos and Quick Reference Guides no later than August 20th to be prepared for the new school year. If necessary, TEI is available to schedule a short training session for networks to review this new platform. For additional information, please contact Jamie Luellen (jluellen@dallasisd.org) or TEI (972-749-5712) TEI@dallasisd.org .
Cornerstone has replaced Schoolnet as the system of record for all Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI) documentation and teacher Professional and Digital Learning registration. A Cornerstone resources section has been added to the TEI website here.
Student Learning Objective (SLO) and PDP
The Fall Student Learning Objective (SLO) Goal-Setting window is August 27 – October 2, 2018. Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) are measures of student growth during the year based on teacher-made assessments. Other standardized assessments that are already included in a TEI achievement template cannot be used for the SLO.
Teachers will receive email notification on August 27th when the SLO Goal-Setting Task is available in Cornerstone. Additional resources are available here.
Professional Development Plans will be kept locally on campuses by primary evaluators; teachers have no action to take online for the PDP this year.
MyData Portal
MyData Portal is an online resource with secure access to assessment data and analyses at the student and school levels, and also provides users with TEI resources including Student Experience Survey results, TEI Achievement reports, and Teacher Roster Verification. 2017-18 Student Experience Survey results are available now, and TEI Achievement Reports will be released in September.
You can access these updates from the TEI Resources box on your MyData Portal homepage, http://mydata.dallasisd.org/index.jsp, or under the tab Improve > Local Accountability. For more information, contact Evaluation and Assessment’s Office of Institutional Research (OIR) at oir@dallasisd.org or (972) 925-6446.
