Namib Desert
The Namib desert is a coastal desert in South Africa. It stretches 1200 miles along the coastline. It is important because it is the oldest desert in the world.
Cape of Good Hope
The Cape of Good Hope is in South Africa. Cape Town, a major city, lies on it. It supports many people for jobs in the city. It is also very beautiful.
Johannesburg
Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa. It supports most industrial goods and that is how it makes money. Many people look for jobs in Johannesburg.
Zambezi River
The Zambezi is the 4th largest river in Africa. It is about half the size of the Nile. It's most wondrous feature is Victoria Falls.
Limpopo River
The Limpopo River is approximately 1087 miles long. The Limpopo is the 2nd largest river in Africa that flows into the Indian Ocean. It is very twisty.
Lusaka
Lusaka is the capitol and largest city in Zambia. Only 1.7 million people live in Lusaka. It is the center of commerce and government in Zambia. It connects to the 4 main highways going north, south, east, and west.
Kalahari Desert
It is a large semi sandy savannah in Africa. It covers Botswana, South Africa, and Namibia. Small amounts of rainfall happen in the summer and is brutally hot. It recieves between 4 and 8 inches of rain every year.
Cabinda
Cabinda is a province of Angola. There is another city (the capitol) called Cabinda. It was formed by the mixture of 3 kingdoms.
Orange River
The Orange River is the longest river in South Africa. It flows into the Atlantic Ocean. This river forms part of the international border for some countries. It does not pass through any major cities.
Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls is a waterfall in Southern Africa. It is located in the Zambezi River along the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.
