Carlton Hills Jaguar ROAR

Carlton Hills Elementary School

For the Week of February 28 - March 4

Ready to R.O.A.R. Message

Walt Disney said, “There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot in Treasure Island!”

Well, Jaguars, Walt Disney was definitely on to something! I know that it is easy to view reading as just another assignment or as part of your homework for the week, but reading is so much more than that!

By reading a book you can visit places you’ve never been or have fabulous adventures you wouldn’t normally get to experience. You could read to learn more about your favorite things or read to learn something completely new. Reading also helps to increase your vocabulary and is one of the best ways to exercise your brain!

Next week, we will be celebrating reading all week long during "Read Across America" Week! This is the perfect time to get back into the habit of reading on a daily basis.

Jaguars, I challenge you to make a habit of reading for at least 20 minutes at home every day! It doesn’t matter how. You can read by yourself, with your parents, or even to a sibling or friend!

Don’t forget to stop Ms. Pezone and Mrs. Simpson to tell us all about what you are reading when you see us. We can’t wait to hear all about it!

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook (@CarltonHillsSSD)! The link to our Facebook page can be found below:

Our lost and found station at the front of the school is really filling up. Ask your child to check for lost sweaters and jackets.
