Tiger Teacher Topics of the Week
Mrs. Jester's Math
This week, sixth grade Pre-AP Pre-Algebra will be finishing their unit covering data analysis and beginning a unit of probability which will cover theoretical and experimental probabilities. Pre-AP Pre-Algebra will have a test on Wednesday.
This week, sixth grade math will be finishing their unit covering measures of central tendency and will also have a test on Wednesday. Sixth grade math's next unit will cover probability and the fundamental counting principle.
Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Turnbow's Math
Mrs. Turnbow's math classes will be reviewing Central Tendency and Probability Monday with an Assessment on Tuesday.
(Remember your student can turn in a signed and completed test review before they take the test for bonus points!)
Wednesday we will begin our final unit before Spring Break over Geometry concepts beginning with a focus on Angle Relationships and Triangles.
Mrs. Reynolds' Spanish
To all my amazing Spanish student's parents and guardians;
You may have heard by now that I will be having back surgery and will be out recovering for the next 8-12 weeks. I was very reluctant to leave in the middle of the semester but realized that this was necessary to combat the pain and lack of mobility that I've been experiencing.
We have the absolute best students in all of Edmond and I will miss being with them and having the privilege of teaching them every single day that I'm out.
Your students are in capable hands as Mrs McGee tries to secure the right person to cover for me long term. Please know that I will be keeping up with their progress and all the goings on at Central.
Ms. Jasper's Science
This week we will be working on finishing Chapter 5 Lesson 2. We will be discussing cells and all of the different organelles. We will be decorating cookies to look like cells as our big activity this week on Thursday.
Note:
If you would like to donate some plain sugar cookies, icing or candy for decorating please send it in with your child on Wednesday. They can drop those items off in my room after school or in the morning.
Just a reminder for this week:
Ms. Clark's Science
Ms. Clark's science classes took an extra day last week on the Sea Turtle Identification with dichotomous keys so we've made a few adjustments to get us back on schedule.
We are now firmly entrenched in plant and animal cellular structure, and the functions inside the cells. We will use the Brock microscope on Monday, but during the week will also make use of the Microslide viewers.
Mr. Janzen and Mrs. Anderson's Social Studies
Social Studies classes will continue to discuss and read about Mexico. We will also be discussing Immigration issues and how they relate to the United States and Mexico.
Mrs. Frank and Ms. Walter's English
Sixth grade English will be beginning a two week research project on Famous African Americans in honor of Black History Month. We will continue reading chapters 11-12 in Tuck Everlasting.
Mrs. Edwards' Literacy
In Literacy, we will be working on different types of conflict and the 5 parts of a plot.
