Be Not Afraid!
I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday and weekend! Now it's December 1st...wow! We have our halls and classrooms decorated for Christmas and a daily Christmas trivia comes the students way each day. I love this time of year!
Last Sunday, Hometown Harmony used our gym for their program, We Need a Little Christmas. I was so proud that we were able to provide this group the opportunity to use our facility! It was a great chance to get 400ish people in our gym who may not typically be in our building. Also, the program was great and our new sound system sounded wonderful!
Monday evening Former coach of the Illini and Salukis, Bruce Weber, stopped by to talk to our Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams. Coach Weber shared his experiences of coaching Team USA, coaching in a National Championship game, being the only coach in the history of the sport to coach the top 5 picks of an NBA draft at one time, and his start as a high school coach. We are grateful he was able to take time out of his schedule to visit the Hawks!
Tuesday a few of our FFA members participated in a Quiz Bowl which was sponsored by the Monroe County Farm Bureau. The students answered questions based on all types of agriculture. Our members had a great evening!
Congratulations to November Artist of the Month, senior Elseah Congiardo! Her art is currently displayed in the library and can be viewed on our social media pages.

Movie Night Tonight The Campus Ministry Club is hosting a movie night tomorrow, Friday, December 1, at 6:00 pm. We will be watching, I Still Believe, the true-life story of Christian music megastar, Jeremy Camp, and his inspiring journey of hope and faith in the midst of love and loss. Pizza, popcorn, and water will be provided. Bring snacks and soda, if you wish. All are invited.
RSVP to Mrs. Miskell for the pizza order.Rafflemania We kicked off our Rafflemania last week. Raffle-Mania is the only fundraiser required for all students at Gibault Catholic High School, and each student must sell 10 tickets. Our goal this year is to sell $50,000 of tickets.
To help achieve this goal we moved this fundraiser online. The link to buy tickets is https://givebutter.com/Raffle-Mania . When you direct people to this site to buy tickets, please make sure they know to enter either the student’s or parent’s name so that the student gets credit towards their required 10 tickets. Not only will tickets will be sold exclusively online, the prizes will be streamlined. Instead of daily drawings, the new Raffle-Mania offers 10 Grand Prizes with a new top prize of $5000!
The flyer previously sent out is also attached below. Please see the attached document that highlights the changes to this fundraiser. Also, to help you track how many Raffle-Mania tickets you have sold, we have created a google sheet. Please use the following link to check on your progress for raffle-mania: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E7i60XK8Y-8k7wOvDsrf_Db6PldSiHJF6QUzL53E5X8/edit?usp=sharing
To get into the Early Bird Drawing, make sure to get your ticket before midnight tonight!
We reached our first goal of selling 25% by today, so all students get a dress down day next Wednesday, December 6th!
If you have any questions regarding the Rafflemania Fundraiser please contact Desiree Frasure at Gibault Catholic High School. She can be reached at 618.939.3883 during school hours or emailed at dfrasure@gibaulthawks.com .
