Mask to Stay
We are also pleased to share that the number of The Charles School community members who have had to quarantine or isolate due to COVID has decreased significantly. We continue to work hard to make our school a safe & healthy community and it is clear that our efforts have been successful.
We want to share that a new recommendation was released this week by the Ohio Department of Health (“Mask to Stay”) which states that groups of students do not need to quarantine if the individual had direct contact with a positive case of COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, if they have been consistently following mask guidelines while at school and continue to wear a mask for 14 days after their last day of exposure.
Therefore, for future cases of community members testing positive, if we need to consider quarantining, TCS will only require students to quarantine if they do not follow the school's mask wearing expectations consistently.
If you have any questions, contact The Charles School at (614) 258-8588 or the Columbus Public Health at (614) 645-7417. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe and to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and school. For answers to your COVID-19 questions, call 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634) or visit coronavirus.ohio.gov.
Internet Connection/Hotspot Survey
We are required by the Department of Education to report on student access to the internet. The following survey will help us fulfill that requirement and will allow us to anticipate and support student needs for equitable access to the internet. The National School Lunch Program forms (free & reduced) that are a part of the enrollment process are an essential part of our school funding especially for student technology. This is why you will see questions related to those forms. If you have not filled out these forms yet please do as soon as possible, the answers are strictly confidential.
Student need for Internet Connection (Hotspot)
Should a computer device be sent home by the school will there be a need for internet connection support? The answers to these questions will help us anticipate Hotspot needs, not wants, for purchase and distribution. Free and reduced questions allows us to know what funding we will need to use for potential purchasing.
Community Participation Survey
I invite you to participate in completing a survey concerning The Charles School and community engagement. I invite you to lend your voice to better understand your perceptions of community engagement at The Charles School to gauge what is going well and what can be improved. Your name and data will remain anonymous. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to your response. Please see the attached consent form. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach me by email at email@example.com.
