Principal's Message

Report Cards were sent home on November 23, and I hope you were as proud of your children's growth and successes as I was! A big thank you goes out to the teachers for their hard work, the students for their diligence and the parents for their support. It takes a community to educate our children and I am proud to be a part of this learning community! Walking around the school on the Student Leds day was amazing as I saw children excitedly sharing their learning with proud parents!

December brings a whole new season at school. With a blanket of fresh snow on the ground it looks like it's time to bring out the sleds again. It also reminds us that Christmas is around the corner, and Ms. Redekop is working hard with our students to prepare them for the upcoming concert. We hope to see you all there cheering on your children as they perform for you.

I personally want to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and joyous holiday season. I hope that your break is filled with family, friends, and fun, and that everyone gets refreshed to start again in January.

I look forward to everything that is to come in the new year, and wish you all the happiest of New Years as well.

Mr. Vince Hiebert

Principal: Elmdale School

Community Christmas

Elmdale students are collecting non-perishable food items for South East Helping Hands. We are also collecting NEW toys. We will be collecting items from Nov.26th-Dec.7th.

It is wonderful to see the spirit of giving in our school as we build our sense of community and citizenship to look out for those around us.

Thank you to all our Elmdale families and students who are able to bring in some items for our community Christmas drive!

Christmas Concert

Tuesday, December 18 at Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd.

  • Performance 1 (K-4) at 1:30 pm
  • Performance 2 (Gr. 1-4) at 7:00 pm

Grandparents and extended family are encouraged to attend the afternoon performance. For the evening performance, students are expected to arrive 6:35-6:45 pm, and guest seating begins after 6:40 pm. Every student plays an important role in the Christmas concert, so all students are strongly encouraged to attend. If unable to attend, please let Miss Redekop and the classroom teacher know.

Thank You!

Thank you to all the parents who helped transport skates, tie skates, and spend time with our students during our Phys-ed Skating Unit.

A Note from PAC

Elmdale PAC is looking for a parent to take over the coordination and organization of the Hot Lunch program. If you're interested in helping out in this way, please use the email address below for more information.

If you're interested in helping out with any PAC fundraisers or the Hot Lunch program, please email elmdaleparentcouncil@gmail.com to volunteer. More help is always appreciated!

Drop off & Pick up

Please take note that parents should not be dropping their kids off in the bus loop. Please remember to park in the family parking zone and walk with your child across the bus loop. This is a high traffic area and we want to ensure the safety of our students.

Alternately, parents can park along Main Street (please do not use business' parking lots for this) and bring their children in the Main Street doors of the school.

Thanks for your cooperation with this.
