School breakfast makes mornings easy by providing healthy options that fit into busy schedules. Eating breakfast at school is a great value! Every meal comes with a fruit or vegetable, milk, and whole-grain rich foods for a deal that can’t be beat!
A great day starts with school breakfast. It has been proven that students who eat school breakfast have better test scores, fewer absences, and improved classroom behavior.
The school breakfast program serves over 14 million children every school day. Is your child one of them?
What’s for breakfast? Head over to the Wrightstown District Food Service website and check out our school breakfast program menus. With so many delicious and nutritious options, there’s sure to be something your child will enjoy!
It’s true what they say – breakfast IS the most important meal of the day.

Yearbook
If you are still interested in purchasing a 2019-2020 yearbook, you have two options: 1) online: www.jostens.com or 2) in the front office with Mrs. Kleiber. Yearbooks now cost $50 through late spring. Checks can be made payable to “WHS” and you will get a receipt for records. Yearbooks are then picked up at our fall orientation!
All senior pictures can be submitted to https://images.jostens.com/413893674, which is a private/secure site just for Wrightstown, that will send the photo to us once approved and will also provide a confirmation email to whoever sends it in (parent or photographer). When you work with a photographer, give them this information and they can send the picture to us through this site. All senior pictures need to be submitted by January 1st.
If you take pictures at your child’s school activities/events and have good action shots of your child and other Wrightstown students that could be used in the yearbook, it would be a tremendous help to the yearbook staff if you could upload those pictures to the ReplayIt app (which is free) for us to have in our image library. This is not a guarantee that all pictures will be used in the yearbook, but the more we have to choose from the better (especially when we are looking to get all students in the yearbook numerous times). This includes things like Ruff-n-Tuff, Powder-Puff, dances, etc.

Attend an Upcoming Interp Workshop...
Anyone planning to participate in an interp category should plan to attend ONE of two interp workshops Mrs. Traas is leading: Monday, December 2 and Thursday, December 5. Both workshops will run from 3:30-5:00 in Mr. Winkler’s room. The workshop will teach you some basic interp skills and will increase efficiency by allowing Mrs. Traas to teach many of you at one time--in a fun, interactive environment. Contact Mrs. Traas at traasdm@yahoo.com or (920) 202-4625 with any questions or conflicts.
She’d be too humble to say it herself, but Mrs. Traas is a MASTER of interp, and I promise that you’ll learn a lot in this workshop.
As a reminder these are interp categories: Prose, Poetry, Storytelling, Group Interp, Oral Interp, Farrago, Play Acting, Duo Interp, Solo Acting Serious, Solo Acting Humorous

...and/or the Upcoming Speech Workshops
Anyone planning to participate in a speech category should plan to attend one of three workshops with Mr. McCutcheon and Mr. Winkler. These workshops are intended to help you identify topics and learn some speech basics.
The first workshop on Friday, December 6, is for anyone interested in Moments in History, Informative Speaking, and Oratory.
The second workshop on Tuesday, December 10 is for Oral Declamation, Demonstration Speech, Special Occasion, Impromptu, and Extemporaneous Speaking.
The final workshop on Monday, December 16 is for Radio Speaking, and potentially Farrago (stay tuned for details).
Mr. McCutcheon has been a national speech coach of the year and has a lengthy track record of success. His ability to think outside the box will help you build a foundation for success this season and beyond.
All speech workshops will run from 3:30-5:00 in Mr. Winkler’s room. See Mr. Winkler or contact Mr. McCutcheon at rjmccutcheon7@aol.com or (505) 710-1383 with any questions or conflicts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parent Meeting
Parents are encouraged to attend an informational meeting after parent/teacher conferences on Wednesday, December 4, at 8:00 p.m. in Mr. Winkler’s room. The primary purpose of the meeting is to solicit volunteers to help with the tournament we host on February 29, along with the end-of-season Team Showcase event.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Team Bonding
Consider joining us for a team social event on Friday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m. in Mr. Winkler’s room. We will watch the movie Figures of Speech. Here’s a summary of the movie:
Figures of Speech follows four duo teams from four different states over the course of one year, culminating at the National Speech and Debate tournament in Las Vegas. The teams represent a cross-section of American high school students. We travel with them to tournaments, to school and into their homes. We're with the teams as they learn to work together creatively, physically and emotionally. The movie brings to life the experiential rush of live Speech performance and competition and also incorporates the drama of a coming-of-age story. Each team must grapple with their own challenges: parental pressure, academic stress, sexual identity, failure, success and falling in love.
Snacks will be provided!
December Food & Toy Drive - Homeroom Competition!
Once again the WHS ECO club will be sponsoring the annual Food and Toy Drive competition between the homerooms. The winning homeroom at the end of the drive will receive the Super Snack Buffet!! :)
Food Drive: students can donate nonperishable food items to their homeroom collection that will be donated to the Alleluia church pantry before Christmas break.
Toys: students can also shop for and donate new toys, books, movies etc to their homeroom collection box. Toys are delivered to Children's hospital in Madison over the holidays to children that are sick and stuck in the hospital over Christmas time. Typical toys are listed at school but include anything that can be played with on a tray table from lying in bed or at a table while sitting up for treatment.
In our 14th year of participation in these drives, we'd like to match or surpass our donation levels as last year we were also able to donate to Bellin hospital in Green Bay!!
Ireland Trip Information Meeting
Tuesday, Dec 10, 2019, 06:00 PM
Wrightstown High School, High Street, Wrightstown, WI, USA
Junior Conferences - There's Still Time to Make an Appointment!
In order to ensure that parents and students are fully aware of everything that is required of, and available to, students their senior year, we would like to spend about 45 minutes with you and your student to discuss graduation requirements, credit check, class rank and GPA, University/ Tech College Information, Financial Aid Information, Scholarship Opportunities, Employment Opportunities and Testing (ACT/SAT, Accuplacer).
To make an appointment with one of our counselors, please contact Brenda Halfman at halfman@wrightstown.k12.wi.us or at 920/532-0525 x6109. These meetings are generally scheduled between 7:30am-3:30pm and we try to schedule during your student’s study hall.
This is a very important meeting and we would like to meet with each student and at least one parent/guardian.
2020 Scheduling
Further in the process, each student will be expected to meet with an advisor to select classes. Courses and the number of sections being offered are determined by the number of requests made by students. School staff, equipment, and supplies are based on the number of students requesting each course, so we would like students to choose courses wisely.
We will send out a message to parents when our course guide and course selection sheets are finalized for 2020, and ready to be distributed.
