Don't Just Teach Digital Citizenship...Embed it into the Curriculum
We as teachers are the designers and facilitators of lessons, activities, and curriculum. We should spend time teaching the importance of being a good digital citizen, but it is important to embed these qualities within the context of the lessons. Embedding digital citizenship is achieved through the integration of technology in lessons in a manner that will allow students to practice the attributes without them being the primary focus (discussion boards, blogs, video production, and providing students the opportunity to give feedback and use comments in an educational and thought-provoking way.
