Lindsay Ponder
In this week's Panther Applause, we would like to recognize Lindsay Ponder. Ms. Ponder is in the CTE Department at CHHS and teaches Business Education classes.
"Lindsay is always willing to assist and help in anything asked of her. She also has a great relationship with all of her students and she has a genuine concern for each one."

CHHS Swim and Dive
CHHS Swim and Dive competed against three high schools from Lubbock ISD at the GCISD pool Friday evening.
The following swimmers placed in the top 3 of their event:
200 Yard Medley Relay - Jillian Montemayor, Kim Sarang, Jenna Hancock, Mia Stertzer - 3rd place
200 Yard Medley Relay - Nick Rennhack, Ian Voland, Oswaldo Ortiz-Esparza, Andrew Ganschow - 3rd place
200 Yard Freestyle - Nick Rennhack - 1st place
50 Yard Freestyle - Jillian Montemayor - 2nd place
100 Yard Butterfly - Oswaldo Ortiz-Esparza - 3rd place
500 Yard Freestyle - Jillian Montemayor - 1st place
200 Yard Freestyle Relay - Nick Rennhack, Ian Voland, Austin Emerson, Oswaldo Ortiz-Esparza - 3rd place
100 Yard Backstroke - Nick Rennhack - 1st place
100 Yard Breastroke - Ian Voland - 3rd place

CHHS swimmers will compete against Martin at home on Thursday and be traveling to Granbury to compete against Granbury and Birdville on Saturday.
Cross Country
The Cross Country teams competed at the District 7-5A Championship Friday at Athletic Performance Ranch in Fort Worth. Every athlete ran a season or personal best on a challenging course!
Varsity Girls got district runner-up with Top 20 performances by Felisa Saheib (4th), Gretchen Pfeiffer (7th), Brenna Casey (11th), Claire Compher (12th), Mia Soo Hoo (18th), & Jaclyn Turner (19th)! Varsity Girls Qualified as a team for Regionals and are Lubbock bound!
Panther Volleyball
Friday, the Panther Volleyball teams traveled to Boswell. The varsity started the night off with a 5 set thriller. They were eventually able to overcome the Lady Pioneers to claim a fight set victory 25-21, 25-14, 19-25, 21-25, 15-11.
The Panther defense was able to anchor the team with a season high 90 digs. JIllian Dits lead the team with 28 digs. Nyah Ellis(17), Faith Hanlon(13), Morgan Sundell(12), and Grace Koper(10) each came away with double digit digs.
Avery Cimperman came away with a career and match high kill total of 21. Jill Dickens added 19 kills and Brynna McKiernan added 15. Grace Koper dished out a season and career high 58 assists.
Morgan Sundell came up with some clutch serves in crunch time ending the night with 5 aces.
The JV would also leave Boswell with a win. Parker Adkins would lead the team offensively with 8 kills and Jori Wallace would add 7 kills. Lorna Buesing was also a standout performer in the match with her aggressive serving and in serve receive.
The freshman would fall to Boswell in a very competitive 3 set match. It was a total team effort from the freshman squad. Elizabeth Hotchkiss lead the way with her positive energy and Emily Sugg did a great job running the court from the setter position. Daniella Rodriguez and Riley Kirkman would lead the way offensively.
