Principal's Message

As we continue to move through the first trimester, it is obvious how hard our students and staff are working. Conferences are a great time to communicate the progress you're seeing with your student as well of any areas of concern. Our second conference date is Monday, November 22nd. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you need to schedule a time to meet. All conferences are virtual.

It's hard to believe that next week is Thanksgiving! This Thanksgiving take time to reflect on what you and your family are grateful for. Although this is a practice most common in November, this is a way to pause and celebrate the large and small things that give us joy all year long. Here are some activities you could try this month to make a new tradition!

Gratitude Pumpkin: Every night write a few things on a pumpkin that you are grateful for until the pumpkin is covered and can serve as a centerpiece for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thankfulness Scavenger Hunt: Create a list of things that your family could find images of that they're thankful for. It could be nature, good friends, favorite spot to relax, family, someone who makes me smile. Share your images with one another or even make a collage.

Kindness Notes: Write notes of gratitude to friends, family, neighbors, or classmates stating why you're thankful for them.

Veterans Day Letters

To honor our veterans on Veterans Day, BRS students wrote letters to our servicemen and women. The letters will be shared with our troops serving overseas. Thank you to all veterans!

Upcoming Events

PRETZEL SALE - Back by Popular Demand!

The PTA will be selling pretzels, water, and juice again next week, during the student's lunch/recess period. Each item is $1.00. This is a PTA fundraiser and is not associated with the cafeteria accounts.

Thank you to the PTA for supporting Bobby's Run!

PTA Holiday Drive

The Lumberton PTA's annual Holiday Drive has started! Wish lists were sent home with your child last week. Please check your child's folder for this information. You can also access your child's wish list at any time here: Holiday Drive Wish Lists. The drive will end on Friday, December 10th. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

For those of you that are unfamiliar, this program helps to provide children in our community that are less fortunate with coats, clothes, food, and gifts from each child’s specific wish list. In

2020, we were able to help 64 Lumbertonchildren from 28 different families; this could not have been done without your continued support!
