Parents are the Key
This week I had the opportunity to attend a breakfast hosted by our GCISD PTA. I am still impressed with the amount of parent and community support within our district and campus. The Jeans and Jerseys event this evening is another example. PTA is not mandated to have a social. Our HMS PTA does this because they care about the development of our students.
One of my core beliefs for student success is parent involvement and our school community reflects this belief. There is never a shortage of parents willing to help our campus. This is wonderful, however more important is maintaining this practice at home in the evenings helping with homework, supporting through struggles, and communicating with teachers when needed.

Parent Volunteers Needed
Our first HMS social of the school year is right around the corner! We need lots of helpers to make this a success and to continue having these fun socials for the kids. Please check-in with Rachael Abell once you arrive to the social and she'll have your assignment for the night. We welcome moms and ads! It would be great to have a few dads each time frame to help with crowd control.

Heritage Middle School PTA
HMS PTA would like to welcome you and your kids to a new 2016-2017 school year!! HMS is a great school. Part of what makes it so great, is the support we get from our Bronco families to be able to do different activities. Destination Imagination (DI) and HMS socials give students an opportunity to for kids to have fun and hang out with their friends. PTA sponsors events like “Coffee with the Principal” where parents and administrative staff can get together to share news and questions about what is going on at HMS. PTA also helps with minor capital improvements. This summer the teacher’s lounge was given a makeover. Now HMS staff can enjoy their lunch or break in a cozy room. As you can see, HMS PTA is always busy and in need of volunteers.
HMS PTA wouldn’t be able to do any of this without your generosity and support. That is why our BRONCO $$$ DRIVE, the main event we use to raise funds for both the school and PTA, is so important!
What is a Bronco BUCK?
It is a ONE TIME donation (100% tax deductible) that we ask families to donate. The goal is to raise $45.00 per student - but any amount will be greatly appreciated. This will be a fundraiser for both the school and PTA. We split the total 50/50. For more information on how the money raised is used please check HMS PTA webpage at www.hmspta.com
Other ways to raise Funds!
HMS PTA also takes advantage of different programs that help school raise funds such as:
Please consider signing up for these programs to help HMS PTA achieve this year’s goals!
