We will not be dismissing students from the office after 3:15. If you arrive after 3:15, please go through the carline or wait until the carline is finished.
We are also NOT allowing walk-ups before OR after school. You must park at a numbered signed in the morning and drive through the carline in the afternoon. Your students may also walk home. You may not park in one of the lots or on the street and walk up to the front door.

Our Watkins staff is amazing!
Want to "shout out" a staff member? We want to hear about it!
During the month of November, our focus word is "safe".
our brain has 2 gears: safe and unsafe. When we feel safe, your brain can run for hours! It’s on fire! It’s like a well-oiled machine. When we feel unsafe, all of our energy goes to that feeling. We might want to run away or fight.
Here are 5 steps to take when you feel unsafe:
1. I AM…… (you realize you’re upset)
2. I CALM…. (you choose a breathing strategy)
3. I FEEL…..(you name your feelings)
4. I CHOOSE…..(you choose a calming activity)
5. I SOLVE…..(you think about how things can be different next time)
Be sure your child comes to school with a water bottle DAILY. Hydration at school (even during the winter months) is VERY IMPORTANT! The water fountains can only be accessed with a water bottle as shown.
Water bottles were supplied at the beginning of the school year to ALL students. We have graciously given water bottles out to students that forgot water bottles at home or lost them. We are now down to our last few for incoming new students.
No more water bottles are available be given to students that forget water bottles. Any questions, please contact the school nurse. THANK YOU!
It is officially Fall and that means more time wearing hats coats and hoodies and Halloween celebrations with costumes and masks (not just the pandemic kinds)à sometimes LICE critters spread through those masks and costumes! Let’s work together as a team to always scan your child’s hair for these critters. We don’t want to share them!
If your child has lice or nits be sure to inform the school nurse. She has lots of good info on how to rid your child’s hair and home of these little bugs. Here are great resources on the internet for home education:
Great resources on the Internet:

- This link will take you to the Lice Clinics of America site. There are two videos on this page. The first video will give you an overview of the product. The second video will give you systematic instructions (it is about 12 minutes long). Please watch the entire video before starting the treatment. The treatment will take 60-90 minutes to complete.
Please remember SPS is a NIT FREE ZONE. If your child has nits (or lice) they need to stay home until they are NIT FREE.
The removal for nits is by far the best practice to avoid infestation.
