Miss Courtney's Class
This week...
During fine motor time at the tables, we created a storm using white crayons and chalk. We had to color the entire green paper and turn it into a snow storm. We also did smoothies of course! Today we added blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. Yum!!!
Tuesday, we talked about the beautiful evergreen....aka the Christmas Tree! We worked together to fold a large piece of paper in half and apply green paint to the branches. When we folded it in half, we had a beautiful evergreen!
Wednesday, we added lights to our trees from Tuesday. We dipped our pointer fingers into red, green, yellow and purple paint and made lights with our fingers. Afterwards we added beautiful glitter and followed directions to place them onto the drying rack. The kids did excellent work!
Thursday, we started our day with sensory centers. The kids made cookies for Santa using cinnamon playdough. We also had our science table filled with braches and pretend snow. We did shaving cream with potato heads and gave them a pretend shave! This was hilarious and the kids loved using sponges and water to clean them up. Thursday, we also got to go to our holiday shop. I can't tell you much about this since it is a surprise! But I can tell you that's your children loved thinking about others and picking out special gifts for the ones they love! We are so excited to show you!!
Friday, we practiced our holiday show songs during circle time. The kids are doing well learning the songs, doing the motions and dancing. We can't wait till our party and show on the 16th! Today, we worked on scissor skills and cut out tall triangles to make Christmas trees. The kids had to follow a very tall black line in order to cut out their triangles. This was a huge challenge because most of us have only snipped on smaller lines. Everyone did a good job! We also brought out a long, fabric tunnel. The kids had to wiggle, scoot, crawl and push a large ball all the way through the the tunnel. This was so hard and really exciting. We worked on using manners, taking turns, and using our muscles to navigate the small space.
