NEWS FROM THE NURSE
COVID Mitigation & recent CDC announcement clarification
As you may be aware, the CDC recently released updated guidelines. IDPH is adapting school guidance to go along with the revised CDC guidance, potentially shortening the exclusion times. However, please note that the additional guidelines are still pending and will be released by IDPH/ISBE soon. Until futher guidance is provided by IDPH the district will use the existing guidelines. We will update our families as soon as we have more information. I recommend that you continue to visit the disrict website under COVID resources for the most current information.
- social distancing (minimum of 3ft w/mask & 6ft w/o mask) as much as possible, proper wearing of mask, sanitation of hands and surfaces (as much as possible), & stay home if you are sick or symptomatic.
- Limiting visitors during school hours.
- Limiting large group gatherings or activities even after school hours to assist with maintaining sanitation practices.
- students have been given assigned seats in classrooms and cafeteria (this assists with contact tracing). Assigned seats have also been given for buses, please encourage your student to sit in their assigned seat.
- A classroom set of face shields were purchased last year and teachers may use these at their discretion.
- We will continue to follow the district guidance and the district safety plan. Information regarding COVID and the safety plan are available under the "COVID Resources" page on the district website https://www.sd308.org/Page/26147
