St. Finnan's Catholic School
December 2020
Principal's Message
Here we are, already at the beginning of the Advent Season. Let us remind ourselves of our countless blessings and think how we can help the less fortunate of our community at this special time of year. We will be holding an Advent Coins Project, where each week specific coins will be collected for those who wish to donate.
There will be a special Christmas luncheon for students and staff on Tuesday, December 8th. Spaghetti meat sauce, garlic bread and a white milk will be given to everyone. Special thanks to our Catholic School Council for cost-sharing this special meal and to the North Glengarry Restaurant for making this happen!
Father Jon will be visiting our classrooms in the next weeks and offer his blessings.
Please visit our school website and look at our monthly calendar for upcoming theme days, order dues dates and special events:

You are invited to contact your child`s teacher at any given time to discuss his/her academic progress.
Thank you for your ongoing support during these unprecedented times; please stay safe and healthy.
Peace be with all of you, Merry Christmas.

Dress for the Weather
Students spend a 40 minutes lunch recess outdoors as well as two 10-minute recesses throughout the day. We are also encouraging and promoting outdoor learning in Physical Education during the pandemic, weather permitting. Thank you for your support.

St. Finnan's Catholic School Council
I would like to thank the families who participated in our first fundraiser this year.
December is a time of sharing and togetherness with family and friends with that in mind the School Council has brought up the idea of cost-sharing the costs for Christmas meal this year. With the current pandemic, things look a little different. We are not able to do our traditional luncheon; however, we are contemplating a Spaghetti Meat Sauce/Garlic Bread with milk for each student. We will be voting this at our meeting on Wednesday. We will be getting everything ready to enjoy a blessed meal with our peers!
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday , December 2nd, 2020 at 6:30 via Microsoft Teams. Parents and guardians are always welcome and encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you.
