Catholic Schools Week - January 26 - February 2
Every year, St. Louis-Reicher Catholic School celebrates Catholic Schools Week. Catholic Schools Week is a national celebration of Catholic education and an opportunity to recognize the importance, the value, and the contributions of Catholic education to the Church and the world. Catholic Schools Week is sponsored by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA).
Below is a TENTATIVE overview of the activities planned for Catholic Schools Week:
Sunday - Celebrate our Parish
Families are encouraged to attend the 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Louis Church and have their students wear their school Mass uniforms (PreK-3 and PreK-4 students can wear their daily school uniforms). Our children's choir will be performing at 9:30 a.m. Mass. Students who attend Mass will receive a Free Dress Day Pass. Students need to look after Mass for Mrs. Zucha or Mrs. Chollett to get the Free Dress Day Pass card. Students who do not have a card will not be able to have a Free Dress Day even if they went to Mass. Free Dress Day will be February 12, 2020
Monday - Celebrate our Community
Elementary campus will write thank you notes to local community organizations that will be delivered by our National Junior Honor Society. Students can go crazy for our community by wearing crazy hair on this day.
Tuesday - Celebrate our Students
All students will have a Free Dress Day on this date (please observe the guidelines set out in our Parent-Student Handbook for Free Dress Days). There also will be a free Sweet Shop for all students hosted by the 1st and 2nd Grade classes. At 2:30 p.m., we will have our annual 8th Grade vs. Teachers Volleyball game in the St. Louis gym.
Wednesday - Celebrate our Nation
There will be a morning assembly at 8:15 a.m. in the St. Louis Gym for pledge, prayer for our nation. Students may wear patriotic shirts, socks, and hair ribbons with their uniform pants/skorts/shorts.
Thursday - Celebrate Vocations
School-wide Mass at 9:40 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church followed by a reception for our altar servers.
Friday - Celebrate our Faculty and Staff
Students in PreK-3 through 8th grade move up a grade for a period of time to experience the next grade level. Teachers will have a Duty Free Lunch on this day, and this is a wonderful time to celebrate our teachers and staff.
Saturday - Celebrate our Parents and Families
We encourage all families to attend the 5:00 p.m. Mass at St. Louis Catholic Church Church. At 6:30 p.m. will be hosting our Inaugural Cougar Got Talent talent show.
