FROM THE DESK OF THE Principal
Happy summer to all!!! A Time for Thankful Reflections
Congratulations to all of our fifth graders and their families who are moving onto middle school! On June 14th, we will say farewell to our 2018 Fifth Grade Class. This fifth-grade class is outstanding, and we are very confident of their preparation for middle school. We are very proud of all their accomplishments. We have truly been honored to be a piece of their success and their educational journey.
We also want to acknowledge some of our other LES families that are moving onto other places. Each family will be greatly missed, and we thank them for their support and contributions to our school community. We wish you all well!
We are also saying farewell to two of our beloved LES staff members. Mrs. Benya, our awesome third grade teacher and Mrs. Forejt, our amazing special education teacher will be retiring this year. We wish them both all the happiness as they begin the next chapter of their lives. We want to truly thank both Mrs. Benya and Mrs. Forejt for all they have done for our LES students. We will miss them both greatly!
Best wishes to Mrs. Green as she transitions to Veterans Elementary School as one of their Assistant Principals. She has been a part of our Lisbon community for many years as a student, parent, volunteer, and all around AMAZING Assistant Principal. We want to thank her for all she has done and all she has given to the Lisbon community. Mrs. Green will truly be missed!
Many of our special events, activities, projects, and programs at LES happen as a result of the efforts and support from our LES PTA. Our PTA is truly a model of collaboration of our parents working together to support the success of our students. This only happens with great leadership, many hours, and tons of effort. A huge thanks to our PTA President, Sunshine Melhuish, who has served as our PTA president the last two years. Your dedication and commitment to our school will never go unnoticed. We also want to thank our PTA Executive Board members, Mindy Barnowski, Astrid Sorrentino, Sheila Rutter, Erin Breedlove, Suzanne Clemons and Linda McGowan, who also put many countless hours of time and great effort into our school. A big thank you to all the parents who have volunteered their time and support for our variety of efforts, such as Fall Festival, Winter Bash, Father-Daughter Dance, and BINGO.
As we approach the end of my second year as the proud principal of LES, I want to personally thank you all for the support you have shown me this school year. I truly feel blessed and honored to serve your children and our school community each and every day. I also am thankful to our talented, wonderful LES staff who are truly professional, dedicated, and thrilled about teaching your children. I am looking forward to starting another school year at LES in August. Please enjoy your summer with your families and friends. Stay safe and have fun!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Anoff
