Family updates for the Week of October 28th
North Rockford Middle School
Thank you to the students who attended the Halloween Dance!
1/2 Day for Students: Friday, November 8th
On November 8th, students will be dismissed at 10:55 am. Students will attend hours 1st - 6th using a mini-schedule.
WACKY WEDNESDAYS
OCTOBER 31 - HALLOWEEN COSTUME DAY
NOVEMBER 6 - CAMO DAY
NOVEMBER 13 - MSU/U OF M DAY
Students participating in the Wacky Wednesday theme will receive a ticket from their 1st hour teacher. Students write their name on the ticket and turn it in at lunch to have a chance at winning some great prizes!
NRMS SERVICE LEADERSHIP
Our Teen Leadership Students are leading a contest to help NORTH KENT CONNECT. All donations will help members in our community during the Holidays.
Student Laptop Care and Storage
Over the last two weeks we've had many students misplace their laptop. Please remind your student that their laptop should be stored in their locker when they are not using it in class. THANKS!
Student ID's and Picture Retakes
NRMS students have received their Student ID cards. Student ID's are required for hot lunch and library book check out. If a replacement is needed, students may purchase one from the Library for $3. If your child did not have pictures taken earlier this Fall, PICTURE RETAKES WILL BE NOVEMBER 14TH.
Student Not Feeling Well?
This time of year often brings illness. The question frequently comes up of when to keep a child home from school, below are our district guidelines.
A child should stay home from school and their physician should be consulted if he/she has any of the following symptoms:
- A temperature of 100.4 or greater
- Green or yellow discharge from nose or eyes
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Cough or sore throat lasting longer than 2 days
- Rashes or eruptions
- Any other medical concern
Students should remain at home until symptom or fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication. If a student has been seen by a physician, and they have been deemed not contagious, a physician's note must be provided to the school indicating such in order for the student to return to class. As always, the best way to reduce your students risk of infection is to practice good hand-hygiene.
