Training Course
What is it about?
This project aims at promoting and improving management and also exploitation of conflict - as a resource for an interpersonal, social and organizational change - in business and labor environments in order to support the improvement of quality and innovation in the field of education and vocational training.
All this through promoting more motivating learning environments in the workplace and also doing formations in a place that has the basis for the development of vocational and professional skills relevant for the need of the labor market.
This training course is part of this project, as each country partner has to carry out similar training in their respective hometowns.
The course
This course is designed on the basis of a new and specific curriculum that defines the competencies and skills necessary for small and medium enterprises and for young entrepreneurs and also business managers, in order to identify, develop and improve their skills and abilities in conflict management at the workplace.
The course will last 36 hours and will be held from 11 to 15 of January 2016. It will be organized around a curriculum with specific modules and addressed to maximum of 20 participants.
LEARNING GOALS:
Knowledge:
- Concept and definition of organizational conflict.
- Mayeutic approach to address conflicts in SMEs.
- Intrapersonal and interpersonal conflict in the workplace.
- Guidelines for effective communication in the workplace.
- Strategies and tools to deal with conflicts in the workplace.
- Emotional intelligence and conflict management.
Skills:
- Reading and understanding of conflict situations in the workplace.
- Recognize the different types of conflict: intrapersonal, interpersonal, organizational, external.
- Identifying sources of conflict.
- Identify positions, interests and needs underlying the conflict.
- Identification of different approaches to working with conflict.
- Identification of the possible outcomes of a conflict before choosing and approach to solving them.
- Understanding conflicts as an important process that cannot simply be solved or eliminated.
- Identification and implementation of mayeutics approach to conflict management in a business environment.
- Exploitation or adaptation of the personal characteristics in conflict management.
- Understand how to exploit the conflict as an opportunity for change.
- Active listening in the workplace.
- Patterns of communication with colleagues and clients.
- Actively contribute performing tasks on a computer.
- Assumption of job responsibilities.

How are we going to work?
The course program focuses on conflict management in the workplace by using a humanist approach and methodology to explore conflicts in labor and growth opportunity. The Socratic method, the based on experiential learning methodologies and theatrical approaches cut set the pace of work with participants.
The basic scheme of work to sum it up somehow would be based on the learning cycle of Kolb, where we start from the concrete experience by students, their self-observation emotional and cognitive terms ( What's wrong with me?) and reflection and subsequent extraction of learning through questions that the facilitator can perform as a guide.
The course sees the conflict from a positive perspective, considering them as learning opportunities for those who are involved in them. The curriculum and is based on the principles of non-formal education: in the design of the learning process prior experiences of students about their preferences and learning needs are taken into account.
