BEAR CREEK BLAST
February 21st-25th
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures:
Our doors will open at 7:25 each day and the tardy bell will ring at 7:40 a.m.
To help with efficiency and ease traffic congestion, students will exit the building from various points to a designated location. For student safety, please meet your children at the appropriate dismissal location. Pre-K and Kindergarten students will sit by class under the awning in the bus circle. Older siblings of kindergarten students will be allowed to be picked up in the bus circle also. 1st-5th grade students will sit in front of the school at their designated spot. Parents will place a car sign on their visor and pull up to the last spot available and wait for their student to be called and walk to the car.
Please remember that during morning dropoff, the small bus loop is reserved for buses and Special Services only. We appreciate your support in keeping our Cubs safe by following our school policies.
Thank you for your patience at dismissal. It takes a team effort to safely and efficiently dismiss our large Bear Creek family!

LUNCH VISITOR UPDATES:
Beginning after Spring Break we will have a monthly sign-up sheet for those that wish to come and eat lunch with their child. More information coming soon!
Missing Something?
If your child has come home missing something, please encourage them to check the lost and found. Due to sanitary reasons, we do not keep lost face masks. However, we have so many coats and sweatshirts that we've run out of hangers! Lunch boxes and water bottles have also been found as well.
We will be donating any leftover garments on Friday, March 4, 2022. Please, if your child has been missing anything, have them make a stop by BCE's Lost & Found, located by the school's cafeteria.

STAAR Online Practice Tests Available Now!
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is transitioning all state assessments to be administered online by the 2022–2023 school year. To support this change, GCISD will be administering all state assessments online this Spring and is encouraging students to visit the practice tests site released by the TEA to prepare for online testing. For upcoming testing, students will be using district issued personal devices.
The online practice tests familiarize students with the general tools, designated supports, and accessibility features that may appear in online tests. In the practice site, there are features that may be turned on and off for students with identified accommodations such as text-to-speech and spelling assistance. Organized by grade level and subject, all 2018, 2019, and 2021 STAAR released tests are also available on the online practice site . Please visit this link for instructions on how to access the practice site.
To view upcoming online STAAR testing windows and dates, please visit our website.
More specific information about student testing days will be coming soon. Please submit a help desk ticket if you are having trouble launching a test.
